Singer-actress Takako Uehara, 29, announced on her blog Friday that she is engaged to Takahiro Morikawa, 33, a member of hip-hop band ET-KING.
Okinawan-born Uehara, who sings with the four-girl group Speed, said the couple hasn't decided on a date for the wedding yet. The two have been dating after they met during a performance at a Tohoku charity concert event -- "Sing for EAST" -- in Kobe last June.
ET-KING made their debut in 2006 with the single "Doughnuts/Natsuomori" and they are going to release a new song titled "mother" on April 11.
Besides her work with Speed, Uehara has appeared in many TV commercials and played the main character in last year's film "Koitanibashi La Vallee de l'amour."
