'Talent' Suzanne announces divorce

“Talent” Suzanne, 28, has announced her divorce from former Softbank Hawks baseball pitcher Kazumi Saito, 37.

Suzanne tearfully announced the split at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday, Sports Nippon reported. She said she was sorry that they could not be a family anymore.

Suzanne said she had not seen Saito since last September.

Tabloid media reported that Saito had been having an affair with pro golfer Momoko Ueda, 28. However, Suzanne told reporters that she didn't want to believe that.

The couple were married in December 2011. They had dated for about two years after meeting through a mutual acquaintance. At the time, Saito said he had always been a big fan of Suzanne, but said it had been a distant relationship with Suzanne based in Tokyo while he was in Fukuoka.

The behavior of the photographers is absolutely disgusting. Just how many frames do they need.

No idea why this needs doing in a news conference. Has the ex-husband done a news conference? It sounds like the break up was mainly due to his extra-curricular activities.

Finally, 'talent' written with quotation marks! Thank you!

Even worse, they keep replaying this segment in practically all the morning news every day. Yeah, it sure is ground-breaking, life-changing news that affects everyone in Japan. Sheesh.

It is always sad when people decide to get a divorce. It isn't a sign that they didn't understand one another but a sign that they have, at last begun to. People just don't decide on a whim to have an affair. Most of the time they happen by accident. They meet someone and get to know this person netter. One flirtatious comment leads to another until an affair blossoms. Whatever reason exit for the affair, the result is that you will hurt your partner and destroy your marriage.

Just saw this espisode on TV. From what I gather, both of them are to blame for the split-up. Without going into long drawn out details, they led a very unsettled married life.

Sorry but really. who cares about this? Is this news world ending news? think not

According to the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry, 253,353 couples were divorced in 2010---which works out to one divorce every two minutes and four seconds---and 708,000 were married in 2010.

A couple's private life doesn't need to be in the streets for all to see. Whatever issues they have, work it out in private, at least for the children's sake.

Look how she spills fake tears to gain more attention. If she was really sorry for causing her son trouble, as she said, she wouldn't bring this whole matter into public view.

What a "talent" she is, indeed.

I don't really feel sorry for her TBH. She hasn't seen him since September?? I think this marriage was long over. And then calling for a press conference to announce that she's getting divorced, as if anyone really cares that much. And then balling her eyes out on camera. Publicity stunt written all over it. Not surprised the husband bailed

1 ( +7 / -6 )

I can't believe this is considered "entertainment"

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Personally, I think it should be written "Talent" celebrity, or "Tarento" celebrity, just as it should be written either bullet-train or "shinkansen" bullet train (when referring to fast trains in Japan).

Japanese terms, and especially Engrish terms, should always be accompanied with, or replaced with the correct, widely used English term. They should never replace the latter.

She said she was sorry that they could not be a family anymore.

To be sure, being a family is problematic unless one possess multiple personalities.

gogogo I can't believe this is considered "entertainment"

I can't belive JT has this listed this under "headline news"

Another one bites the dust, big YAWN~!

Why is she doing this on TV??? Doesn't she know the latest technology everyone uses for these kind of announcements is a FAX!!!!

And yet the world goes on. Would be nice if the media did as well. Sad that they make a living off of focusing on the sadness of others.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I can't believe this is considered "entertainment" cant believe shes listed as "talent" this woman has as much talent as a brick.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

A Japanese celebrity getting a divorce?...you don't say! That is headline news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She realized that he was no longer in the spotlight. So she decided to divorce him while she was still young to go find another celebrity to marry. Not surprised at all. They do it in America. Situations like this is the reason why I believe that celebrities should NEVER date other celebrities.

A news conference seems like a good idea. This can be parlayed into something more.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

her surgeon did an excellent job ! now for real news, JT, where does she go out and do we have a chance to meet her ?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

It looks like someone is looking for some attention! It's a breakup, get over it!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

For all the people here complaining that we don't care ... why did you even click the link to this story? I did just to see a photo of a "talent".

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I wonder how many times she rehearsed for this. And did anyone else find it strange/convenient that the reporters are all female? You can just hear them saying "Those men are all b@stards".

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Well Momoko Ueda is more beautiful. You can't really blame Saito. He has needs.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

One of those divorces that the media is proud of because they warned her about his past of being an unfaithful husband and abusive. She dug her own grave but can use that to cry on variety shows about her crappy marriage and make money though she is "talent"less

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Oh come on...this is all a publicity stunt. She hasn't seen her husband since September and decides to get a divorce now? Their marriage ended a long time ago, the only reason why she is having a cry about it on camera now is because she felt its an opportunity to get back in the lime light.

All these people are are publicity whore who look for any opportunity to seize the public's attention. A month from now, she'll be doing those silly little variety shows and TV commercials, and won't have a care in the world.

People just don't decide on a whim to have an affair. Most of the time they happen by accident.

The guy left his previous wife while she was still pregnant and doesn't even pay up. He's a total scumbag, and Suzanne was warned about him by her close ones, but decided to marry him anyway.

Suzanne? Saito? Momoko? This has all the makings of a feature film.....

The behavior of the photographers is absolutely disgusting.

People like this LOVE this. The more attention, the better. No compassion from me

Great entertainment. Too bad no videos of the dude cheating with his golf friend.
