This guy is taking the honest and apologetic approach, so has he dodged a bullet here.?

I am a male and I have been groped many times, but I always put it down to 'one of those things in life'. The time I felt weakest was seriously ill in hospital, where on Tuesday evenings it was male nurses who came round to give me my sleeping pills. They smiled and offered me something extra strong. Somehow I did not trust them, so I pretended to have taken the pills. Was it paranoia? It is a terrible thing, feeling in a position of weakness.

QT is an outsider to the movie industry and probably was hit with the same pressure to remain quiet that many of these women felt.

We could condemn him without trying to understand more, but it would be more productive to support his honesty and encourage others to be honest and more proactive.

I am just baffled that he sided with Weinstein over Mira Sorvino. She is very intelligent and very attractive to boot. Plus, her father is very likable guy who looks like a mobster and plays mobsters in the movies. QT couldn't have dated her if he were a pig like Weinstein.

The only explanation that makes sense is that he felt pressure to keep quiet.

I haven't lost respect for him over this at all.

I once worked in a small company in the U.S. We had a perfectly fine phone system in our office. One day this smoking hot blonde haired lady with a cute figure came in selling phone systems. Our manager was a weak, short-tempered and insecure man (ugly to boot) who nobody in the office could stand. Boy, did he light up when this hot young lady come into our office and the manager spent the whole afternoon talking with this gal. On Mon. morning when we came in, we had a completely new phone system. The price tag I heard from a co-worker was over $5,000. All of us were wondering what the heck happened from Fri. afternoon to Mon. morning. Some of us suspected that her sleeping with him probably came with this pricey phone system. Of course we'll never know for sure, but we were all quite satisfied with the old phone system.

Don't get me wrong, Weinstein is both gross and scary. However, if this young hot lady with the cute figure was indeed exchanging sexual favors to close a pricey phone system sales contract, well, does that qualify any longer as sexual harassment? Was he exploiting her, was she exploiting him or were they both exploiting each other?

Bill Cosby, Michael Jackson, Harvey Weinstein . . . why do these people put themselves (or their children as is the case with MJ) in vulnerable situations alone with these people?

Stormcrow - why would you immediately jump to the conclusion she slept with your manager to make a sale??

The majority of men only need to be talked to by a hottie to make bad decisions. In this case a $5000 phone system no one needed

It is called the inability to discount future benefits. A man's mind can go to mush in the presence of an attractive woman. Women don't suffer from this problem. It is theorized to be biological.

So, men beware if you are going into a meeting and a counter party puts an attractive woman in front of you. It was probably done on purpose.

Women, this is more powerful than you realize... Maybe one day a man will claim to be a victim of being smiled at.

havent you heard? Biology doesn’t exist these days. Someone will accuse you of a microagression

Weasel words, film production finance will always be Tarantino only priority….

isonly... Tarantino is saying the same himself, so what's your point? He is indeed an outsider, and until now I thought he might be one of the very few not afraid of speaking their mind, be it in their art, or in everyday living.

@clemena

If you re-read what I wrote, you'll see I used the word suspected, but let's say she didn't sleep with my manager, which I still think is unlikely knowing this man the way everybody in the office knew him. Wouldn't you say that it's possible, or indeed probable, that there are good looking women, or hotties, who do finalize a sale by sweetening it with a bonus, not unlike that of a high class call hooker?

My point, rightly or wrongly, is that there are always going to be women who offer their bodies to men for the sake of money and/or fame. Some ambitious women who go to a man's hotel room alone will say no but other women will say yes.

It's not right, but that's the way it is and has always been.

Didn't Tom Cruise mock this guy in that Vietnam war flick? Too funny. Best Cruise ever. They even added fat to his arms and hands to make him look more "authentic".

Storm row - she was a woman selling phones. Not a 19 year-old actress trying to get a role on a tv sitcom.

your assertion that most women will willingly sleep with a guy for a few hundred dollars commission is an insult to women everywhere

@clamenza

By hook or by crook. The world is full of different kinds of people.

Stormcrow - yup, but not in the numbers you suggest.

Hollywood does not represent everyday society

Everyday society does not represent Hollywood.

@stormcrow

Yes. My point exactly.

@clamenza

Well, I'm happy that we can both finally agree upon the fact that the world is indeed full of different kinds of people and situations.

Cheers!

@stormcrow- that was never in doubt, nor what you were suggesting.

Cheers!

For all the women who decide to get down on their knees or climb into bed because they want the acting role that much (or music gig, modeling job, etc) - blame yourself only because nobody forced you to do it. The large majority of the time, these situations are not rape. They are some d-bag, pervert who says if you do THIS for me, I'll give you THAT thing you are wanting from me. Rather than walk out the door, never turn back, etc - they will blame their age or the industry or whatever sounds good at the time. But in the end, whether you are at an interview for Saizeria, or Sony Pictures - if your would-be boss pulls his pants down and asks how badly you want the job, you can say no, and look for another job.
