What a horrible message.
He wants to start the conversation? OK.
So, why are people smashing jewelry store cases to steal? Because sometimes jewelry has to be stolen? Why are Asians targeted for violence and killed? Because sometimes Asians have to be attacked and die?
Rationalizing away arson and violence to children is a despicable way to make a dollar.

Fictional mouse ‘nudity & profanity’ within the context of allegory commemorating actual Holocaust events was recently unfairly banned. Let’s see if this book will be placed under the same scrutiny for community standards?: “Sometimes buildings must burn,” an adult says.”
Mable
Really tired of this self-pity and blaming others. Are you really trying to say that the world has not changed within the last 50 years for black people despite civil rights movement, total end of racial segregation and the fact that the US had a black president? Please tell me what happened?
You want to be successful in life? Stay away from crime, show self-discipline, go to school, study hard and study the right subject at university.

Happy Black History Month! Enjoy!
NOMINATION
The shortest month of the year sponsored by segregationists. Black history is U.S. history. Black people in the U.S. are Americans. Sorry to burst your bubble.

All history matters! I knew someone would.
It’s my birthday! So what, everyone has birthdays.
Mr Kipling
"Daddy, why are those buildings burning?"
I'm not your daddy, he left your mother before you were born.
"Oh..."

Black history is a part of US history, so what. In what way does that justify propagandising children that arson and violence are acceptable if you are black?
Mable has a valid point, accept things have changed and move on, stop portraying your selves as victims, the world over the route out of poverty has always been education self discipline and self improvement not crime, drugs and gangs.
In US history in particular, many immigrant communities have faced poverty and discrimination but have hauled them selves up by their boot straps not wallowed in their victimhood.

Darnit junior… why? You wanna know why?? Because you can't handle the truth is why!!

Jeez... I wonder if THIS one will get banned by the racists in the US who want to ban and burn books (except The Bible, which has examples in it of everything they say they want to ban).

Mr Kipling, black people do not have no basis fear of insecure White people, some Black are moving to a new phase of legal liberation, some White people are hellbent on meeting their social, legal and political demise, they do it at their own peril

We’re not equal. We all are born with some abilities and some with disabilities. Some people are smart, some are not. Some people learn and develop skills, some people don’t want to or can’t.
History is the past. Live in the present and the future. To hell with the past.
