Hope everyone there thoroughly enjoys their evening of mediocre music

Awesome. She seems to be a wholesome role model, very rare in these times. I just hope she doesn't get a minor injury and sit out her concerts like another visiting superstar.

month of sell-out shows in Asia

I cannot name a single song by her, but then I can say the same thing about most current pop musicians. I know her mostly because of what the US media write about her, I think she's incredibly popular in the US, but did not know she's a global phenom as well.

But if she in fact has a month of sell-out shows in Asia, she must indeed be very popular, apparently making some US politicians jealous, but then some of them are pretty weak characters that must be threatened in some way by her and her success. I also have heard she encourages her fans to vote, which might make the anti-democracy pols upset. The US has elected a B-level movie star and a reality TV character to office, so supporters of them should accept Ms Swift's popularity and respect her call for more people to vote for the pol of their choice. Thanks Ms Swift for doing your part to encourage people to participate in a fundamental aspect of democracy.

Indeed. Shocking carbon footprint though.

Some Swifties decry the cease-and-desist to Jack Sweeney, who measures public figures’ carbon footprints online, as unnecessary

Can't wait for it.......not.

Carbon footprint is a true to disgrace as well.

Hysterical, had no idea she was in the country.

-4 ( +11 / -15 )

Never listened to any of her songs. What’s make her so popular?

On the American leg of her tour, Swift gave all of her 50 truck drivers a $100,000 bonus each. Helping them buy their first homes.

Swift had given some $55 million in total in bonuses to her dancers, sound technicians, riggers, and truck drivers.

Yeah, sure. International travel and concerts should all be banned. Let's mandate sitting in our rooms in the dark, avoiding all power sources and transport - and rub some sticks together to start fires at night.

Get real.

Hope everyone there thoroughly enjoys their evening of mediocre music

why you cannot leave people in their value. That you think it is mediocre music doesn't mean others think like that. And her fan base is huge so she is not doing bad at all.

Or is there some jealousy involved with your comment

200 million plus fans. $2 billion tour.

Her songs.

It’s crazy that people spend ¥8,000 to ¥30,000 just to listen to someone lip syncing songs. Waist of money!

Ironically, she's one of the few major artists who don't lip sync their live shows. I'm not a fan of hers and I'll even give her credit where credit is due.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Things those with a one track mind say...

Taylor Swift being dragged into democratic election media Psi-Op = false narrative that republicans do not like her, that she's pro democratic party etc. = Pure Lies.

Taylor Swift knows that its ONLY pro democratic media elites (media industry as whole always donates more to d's than r's FYI by huge margin) who are trying to weaponize her popularity and influence. Why?

Because Biden's in the 30's% for approval, HIGH Prices, Crime, Interest Rates & Open Borders, Global Chaos etc. Democratic operatives desperate, nothing to run on!

Taylor Swift also knows her Fiancé's a Trump supporter and about half of her fans are as well! She'll stay out of the political media fray as result. More media gas-lighting to manipulate public opinion, should we expect else?

Hope all the Swifites in Tokyo have a blast. The Eras Tour is a banger - three hours of pure entertainment and camaraderie.

Carbon footprint is a true to disgrace as well.

Yep, she recently took an 18 minute private jet flight to see her 'boyfriend' play football

And of course next week will fly her private jet from Japan to Las Vegas to see him play again and then immediately take her private jet and fly from Las Vegas to Melbourne

I have it on absolute authority, more than just a around the camp fire powwow, that President Joe Biden and Vice President have been karaokin' for a breathtakin', a Super Tuesday "Swifty" rootin' shootin' Democrat endorsement unveiling.

Oh yes. Taylor Swift will sing her heart out to the Trump Balloon, Look What You Made Me Do.

T. Swift is SMART, always warns people, watch out of Hollywood parasite cockroaches trying to $rip you off and destroy your good name for THEIR political Agenda!

Way to go Taylor, staying above US political sewage fray!

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Why on earth is this top news? Numerous artists have not only sold out Tokyo Dome but done multi-city tours of Japan as well, and then gone on to do tours of Asia.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Congratulatons to Ms Swift . . . !

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I am not a loyal follower of Taylor Swift but I have to give her credit she is one of the few entertainers who have a clean image, she is great because she treats people like people and value those around her who she recognized helped shape and make her career what it is. Very rare.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Never listened to any of her songs. What’s make her so popular?

I think I might know why you don't know the answer to that question.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Something about Taylor Swift has not only given the magic money tree a serious shake, has uprooted the entire (filthy) lucre forest at the same time.

Good luck to her.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I have listened to her music and I find it rather trite. But so what? The public likes her and she sure is doing well. I'm old. I'm not the target audience and every generation has its music, movie, and TV stars. That's how it should be. Rudy Vallee was the great music star of the late 20s last century. Few remember him. That's how it goes. Good for Taylor Swift. It's her turn and she is setting records all over the place just like Elvis and The Beatles, both of who are beginning to fade a little.

I heard a song she wrote I liked, for the film

“Where the Crawdads Sing” called “Carolina”:

Bland, faceless wallpaper music. Enjoy your evening.

This woman is apparently so powerful she can make grown men comment and have very strong opinions about her even if they’ve ’never heard her’ or don’t know ‘what makes her special’.

She’s clearly very special if she’s making you take time out of your day to comment on something you know nothing about and (if rumours are true) she can make political figures nervous and worried about her power and influence.

You don’t see her appeal? You think her carbon footprint is too big? You think she’s a Democratic plant? Good for you. Well done. Now go touch some grass or listen to ‘shake it off’ and have a lovely day.

Not a fan of her music..

But it's funny to see the MAGA gang get triggered every time she does something..

LOOOOOL !!!..

I am a Taylor Swift fan. Not a fan of her music, except for a few songs I have learned to enjoy (sometimes I have to ask my daughters to please change the music, I can’t take it anymore), but of her talent and her massive ability to inspire happiness on what is, or is becoming, a global scale, in spite of all the haters, curmudgeons, fascists, and those unable to see or feel beyond their own cynical worldview. Some people will complain about and try to tear down anything and everything, that is their existence, but others live full of life themselves and remind others what it is like to be young, full of life and possessed with unbeatable spirit, and inspire millions and millions of people, even if their music is not necessarily our cup of tea (or if we have to tell our daughters to change the music.).

She’s so hot! She’s like the female version of Elvis Presley for today’s generation.
