Wow, huge shock & very sad. What an amazing voice Dolores had in her day

Even though The Cranberries were often mocked for simplistic and some might say, naive, lyrics (especially on global smash "Zombie"), there was no denying the talent of this singer from Limerick.
Goodbye and thanks for the music, Dolores.
Way too young.

Amazing talent and one of my favorites during the 90's. An amazing voice and I thought some pretty amazing music.

In the 90s there was a fad for Irish things in the wake of the success of U2. This band, Hot House Flowers, Enya, Roma Downey, Riverdance, Irish dance, Corrs. Of all that just U2 and this band were my cup of tea. U2 is better but I liked the Cranberries too and Dolores had a nice voice. RIP DOLORES O'RIORDAN too young.

April 1995, two months before my first stay in Japan, I watched them perform in Northern California. My boss at the time knew I was a big fan and he gave me two tickets with backstage passes as part of my "farewell". Front row for the show, and meet and greet with the band afterwards. One of the best moments on my youth. RIP Dolores.

"You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger. Did you have to, did you have to, did you have to let it linger"

Would add The Pogues to your list.
Wasn't a fan of the Cranberries tbh (especially 'disliked' zombie, for whatever reason) but I recently saw an acoustic version of Dolores singing 'ode to my family' (on youtube) that was pretty cool. 46yo though :(

Dreaming My Dreams was a great song too. She really did have a great voice.

Starpunk's list made me remember The Proclaimers. What far flung corner of the Celtic world (by way of Motown) did they inhabit?

No no no, I meant the Commitments. The fictional band within the movie.
