With so many streaming services, I guess pirating will be back bigger than ever in 2021.

Not much of a fan of movies, but would hate to see big, otherwise useless empty buildings scattered when theaters get moth balled.

Hollywood is garbage and working in it doesn’t make it any better and now that China officially owns it, expect more junk to come out of Tinseltown.

And the production companies will have no idea whether there is one person watching the streaming on a laptop, or an entrepreneur selling tickets to his home to 20 people to watch on his 80-inch 8K TV with a pro-like sound system. The production companies are going to have to figure out how to properly monetize this so unknown parties are not profiting from their artistic efforts.

Watched Mudbound the other day on Netflix. Absolutely epic, ok, it's a couple of years old but there's plenty of decent stuff out there if you do your research.

Be it foreign language, silent films, arthouse, indy, studio... whatever.

As for the blockbusters, I'll keep watching. Sometimes you need to fall into a big, silly film.

Took me until 7even to appreciate Brad, but I do like him. He's turned into a fine actor, his recent turn in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was great fun.

The movie business has a big pile of problems. First is that young folks don't date much these days so are not going to many movies, second is that it seems that the entire industry worked hard to cover up some long simmering serious abusers, and finally they are now caught in the woke purity trap. The studios forgot that their entire purpose is to make as much money as possible not force a social agenda regardless of the merits of that agenda.

Gooooood. They've put out so much garbage the last decade or two. If it's not a sequel, it's a remake. If it's not a comic hero movie, it's a lame version of a foreign film.

You can find hidden gems here and there, but overall Hollywood has become a corporate controlled barfbag.

movies today are nothing more than non integrated video games. Most have ridiculously bad computer graphics.

“actors and actresses” less and less skilled or professional.

no storylines just digital effects.

i can’t count anymore how many bad copycat takes i have seen from the matrix scene of ducking bullets in slow motion shots, or the laser beam gymnastics by Zeta Jones in Entrapment.

Dialogues are so cheap and bad i can predict the next sentences with. 75 % accuracy and every single cartoon has the same “ realistic” movements and “ facial” expressions as the last, as far as I know, going back since “Bob the superhero”.

As-long-as Hollywood clears all of its new movie projects with the Chinese Communist Film Bureau the funding will keep on flowing. Top Gun II got the seal of approval.

TBH Mulan was a total disappointment! I had to rewatch the original version just to get over it.

I hope Netflix doesn't slow down, the going to the movies experience is already dead.

How about some good, interesting and original movies that are not just a rehash of everything that's gone before? That would be a change!
