Why was Doctor Who never aired in Japan? It would be a huge hit!

It was. BS2 I think. Now you can watch it on Hulu.

It was aired in japan. I never saw doctor who in my life, but always heard it was great. I was sitting in Kansas airport waiting for my group. I was watching Japanese TV, and this great show was on (with Japanese subs) I was able to see the whole last half of the episode . I loved it. It was dr who. I was hooked!

NHK only showed season 1 from 2004 and season 2 from 2005 before they dropped it, presumably because some old boy thought he'd commissioned a medical drama and decided re-runs of Full House were a lot easier for him to understand. Hulu on the other hand are halfway through uploading season 6, and will soon have season 7. One more reason not to bother with NHK.
