RIP Tito!

Playing guitar in a singing group does not make you insignificant. The guitar is essential to their music.
Maybe Tito didn't want to be in the limelight anyway like MJ. Being a superstar is a heavy weight to carry. Ask Elvis.
RIP Tito, you made your impact in a 'quieter' fashion and you will be missed.

RIP, Tito! I was JUST listening to "I Want You Back" not but three days ago to prove to a youngin' that it is not, in fact, TWICE, that wrote or performed the song originally. She said she still preferred the Twice cover, but at least she was impressed by the young Michael Jackson and the band, and was surprised the song she loved was not the original (and promised to listen to more Jackson 5).

He maintained a steady rhythm and, at times, provided lead guitar parts, although rhythm was his primary focus most of the Jackson 5 music was heavily groove and rhythm oriented, the man definitely was not a slouch on guitar, but rhythm was his primary pocket lane which is also technically a harder thing to do.
