Hmm..

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
( Tolkein died in 1973 )

What next a movie about George Lucas...….do we really need these kinds of flicks......I doubt it!

@GW
Tolkein's works were the 2nd most popular books of the 20th Century, next to the Bible. Somewhat an important chap.
You're not interested. Just say so. Don't need to put 'we' in your comment. But to go along with your 'we'' : Do we really need any kind of flick? Humanity has been flickless for tens of thousand of years, at least. And, yes, some people might be interested in a Lucas bio-pic.

Family distance themselves because they are expecting a bit of muckraking. Need to spice these "boring" biographies up a bit......

J.R.R. Tolkien, a truly gifted writer in his own right, created the hobits and orcs, etc., while he was recovering from his WWI injuries in the hospital dreamily on morphine. Germany and the Germans inspired Tokien to create Mordor and the orcs. The eagles coming in at the last minute to save the day were the Americans.
