The original "Top Gun" received mixed reviews but was a huge commercial hit. It was the top grossing film stateside in 1986, raking in $356.8 million globally.

Val Kilmer will reprise his role as “Iceman”. Jennifer Connelly has a big role, as does Miles Teller who will play Goose’s son and Maverick’s new protege.
