He'll get over it. Even Tiger is back on top again.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Have always liked the guy. Respect their privacy. Move on and grab Koyuki Tom and own Japan...and make aliens I mean gaijins cool again.

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

Gaijins cool again, when were they ever cool? Tom needs to get out of the closet and reveal his real character. Never liked the control freak side of him.

0 ( +10 / -9 )

Well, the world ridiculed him when he jumped all over Oprah's couch. Now, it looks like that incident will be in his favor. We know that man loves his wife and his children.

If I were him, I'd take the church out of the equation altogether. If that really is the source of friction then Tom shouldn't push it at all.......he also has to tell the Church to back of Katie and Suri.

He could still save his marriage. It's not over till the judge inks papers with his seal. At any point, they can reconcile their marriage.

People divorce over trifle things these days. There must be MORE. I think there are many people in this world who marry outside their religion. I think it's important cause you don't want a partner who doesn't hold the same values as you if it's your intent to have children.

There has to be more. For their sake, I hope it's only Scientology, Tom has enough money to back them off for good.

L. Ron Hubbard, The Church of Scientology. I remember my mother telling me not to read that nonsense.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

"L. Ron Hubbard, The Church of Scientology. I remember my mother telling me not to read that nonsense." Yeah, mine too. L. Ron Hubbard was one of my favorite science fiction authors when I was growing up. The TEN book series Mission Earth and Battlefield Earth were great. She wouldn't let me read his "non-fiction" work.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Tom will always be an alien. As a movie star he does well, as a husband he is a three time loser.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

He got what he deserved.

-3 ( +7 / -9 )

Tom Cruise is such an overrated actor, in my humble opinion.

7 ( +15 / -9 )

i like cruise but his devotion to scientology just seems over-the-top. it's a "religion" created by a sci-fi writer.

8 ( +14 / -7 )

@Christopher Smith- Cruise is a movie star not an actor. So, he is an overrated movie star.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Most celebs have been married two or three times and always in the news with their constant relationship problems. Boring as hell news reports and makes marriage meaningless. I like them as actors but why should we give a toss about their personal issues?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Funny, no one had much of a problem with him until he made a speech about how the pharmaceutical companies and the psychiatrists are heavly medicating many millions of our children with psychotropic drugs. Within 36 hours of that speech over 800 shows on USA television across the country found a way to call him crazy, even if they were cooking or weather shows. Some one didn't like that speech. BTW..One of the main proofs he was crazy.....he kissed his fiancee on the Red Carpet, Oh My !!! He has been under constant media attack ever since. I don't care about his private life, I don't care if he's a great or fair actor. The media attack on him scares the crap out of me and dampens my hopes for the future of our country on this 4th of July.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

dude tom c has always bee creepy to me! lol i hope katie keeps her child cause that religion is weirdo!!!

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

GO KATIE!!!!

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

HATE TOM C

-2 ( +6 / -7 )

Kenneth, never heard of that "speech" you're referring to but the one that was all over the media was not a speech about drugs and kids, but rather an interview in which he made negative statements about adult actress Brooke Shields, criticizing her for using medication to mitigate the effects of postpartum depression, and basically denying that any chemical imbalances exist at all, and topping it all off by calling psychiatry "pseudo-science." (I'm sorry Mr. Cruise, but what medical school did you attend again? Oh that's right, none.) Anyway, how can you criticize the media for "attacks" on him? This is a man who - thanks in large part to media which has contributed to his stardom over the years - earned $75,000,000 dollars for Mission Impossible 1, another $75,000,000 for Mission Impossible 2, yet another $75,000,000 for Mission Impossible 3, and according to this article he made the same amount for the fourth installment. His image is what sells - not his acting chops. And he has cleverly used the media to shape this image and get it known. So when he defiles his own image by making nonsensical statements on national TV about something he knows nothing about, I think the media has every right to call him out for the clown he is.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Never liked the control freak side of him

What do you mean? Maybe you're talking about one or two of his movie roles?

One of Katie's complaints is that he ISN'T controlling enough. Appararently, Tom doesn't believe in disciplining their daughter Suri while Katie is the strict, controlling one.

The Mrs. filed for SOLE custody of their daughter Suri. Now if that isn't THE most controlling moves she could pull...

Also, the-soon-to-be-FILTHYRICH-ex filed the papers (behind his back I should add) in New York, meaning Tom cannot use his California lawyer. Another bold controlling move, no?

Consider also this gem: SHE wants to take the whole thing public! She filed for an emergency hearing yesterday (his birthday) which means a judge is now assigned to their case. It’s no longer going to be an out-of-court settlement. It's all about controlling the media now!

Seems to me that SHE is the control freak.

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

Personally, despite his personal beliefs, and his choices in women (although back in the Dawson's Creek days, Katie Holmes was quite a hottie!) I like Tom Cruise. It's a pity he has to go through this again, but probably none of us will ever know the true reasons why. That said, marriage, divorce, and all that goes with it are private matters, and I wish them all the best. In regards to the distribution of assets after the divorce, with $75M in the bank, I don't think he, or Katie and Suri for that matter, have anything to really be concerned about. Tom still has massive earning potential.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Actually it's because he jumped up and down on Oprah's couch...

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Life is life. Da da da daaaa...

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

They get divorced and he's Hollywood's most eligible bachelor again. She's the terrible actress in batman and.. His ex.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

How can anyone be taken seriously if they admit to believing in that Scientology BS... They have got to be slightly mentally retarded. That being so, good luck to Katie, she made the right move.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Jumping up an down on a sofa because you're madly in love with a girl who you think is gonna make you happy for the res of your life is NOT crazy. A whole nation including kids as young as ten years old on Zanax, Prozac and what not to control their OCD, SAD, PTSD, PD, GAD, ADD etc. is!

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

"he has been less successful in his personal life"

Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, and Katie Holmes. I'm sure many men dream of that kind of failure.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Well it wasn't that crazy, until he zapped Oprah to death...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIWw5LbArgM

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Suri-chan is sad and her mom wants to put her on Proxac.

Suri-chan is happy and her mom wants to put her on Xanax.

People (including kids her age) were doing just fine until the drug companies backed by all those "doctors" started to invent names for pretty much any kind of emotion deemed "crazy". They're worse than the drug lords from South America!

Tom is in his right mind to prevent a lunatic and emotion-control-freak of a mother to get sole custody of Suri-chan.

Katie knew damn well who she was marrying, Scientologists included. It's not as if Tom changed overnight. The judge will be on his and their daughter's side.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

if you wanna read a good article about scientology, check this out:

I hope she gets full custody over the kid and gets plenty of cash off this complete nutjob cult member. Little Tom will just move onto another woman he can try and control in yet another sham marriage. Why won't he just be honest and come out of the closet?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

rickyvee,

80% of Americans are Christian and believe in an imaginary ghost called God. Check THAT out!

-6 ( +8 / -13 )

Bachman Turner, you have really gone into 'Overdrive' with your posting on this topic.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Bogart,

You ain't seen nothing yet.

-5 ( +2 / -6 )

To be honest I know nothing about those Scientologists or their church and beliefs, so I'd like to ask you two questions, just so I can get the general idea. 1. Have they killed, raped, molested or comitted any other crimes against humanity or nature under the eyes of their God (if they have one)? 2. Do they also have a get-out-of-jail-free-card that absolves them from such crimes simply by going to confession?

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Tom Cruise can be my wing man anytime! He's single now so, " Drinks are on the house! The bar is open!"

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Dear Mr.Cruise,

please take your level meters and alien ghosts and stick them up Uranus !

L-Ron's theories make Russel T.Davies' sci-fi efforts look like Arthur C. Clarke had written them.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I agree Ewan, no one gets up my nose more than Tom Cruise.

It's got to the point where I can't even watch ten minutes of the smarmy git on film.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@bachman

well at least christianity and other religions are out in the open about their wacky beliefs. whereas in scientology you have to reach a certain level (O.T. VII) in the heirarchy to see wacky documents about XENU and "placing an intention into an individual."

0 ( +2 / -2 )

WOW, you guys are drinking pure Haterade. Yo, fill up my cup!!!

Katie is a TERRIBLE actress. She was digging on him and not the other way around. Can anybody name one good movie she's done? She's about as exciting as Jennifer Aniston who is already pretty boring. She lost Brad Pitt.

Drinks more Haterade!!!

I hope Katie gets NOTHING but the prenup money from the divorce. Would be best if Tom gets the children too as he could properly provide for them. Katie Holmes doesn't have a job. Unemployed. She doesn't even make commercials. The third time's a charm and this time I bet Tom's lawyers dig up the world on her.

More Haterade!!!

Katie will be on the cover of Playboy in less than a year from her divorce. The Church of Scientology didn't teach her that.

Dear Mrs Katie Holmes,

please look for a job cause you can't act to save your life. Pinocchio is more animated than you are on screen.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

He is in denial about being short and in denial about being gay. sooner he gets himself a short boyfriend that he can control the better. Take a leaf out of Elton John's book.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

maybe Anderson Cooper should do an interview and lure Tom out of the closet.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Regardless of all other considerations, it's sad when a marriage breaks down, sadder when there are children involved.

It's also sad that so many posters are convinced that a man who is way better-looking than they are, has tons more money and way more success with the ladies than they can ever hope to have, must be gay/weird/brainwashed/a control freak/a nutjob/crazy. Take a reality check boys, because TC is hot, rich and popular - and none of your sour-grapes whining is gonna change that.

As for his height - no problem at all. Who wants to need a pair of binoculars to gaze into a beau's eyes, while wearing 4in heels? Not me. Anything much over 175cm is merely an object of curiosity, not a potential partner.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Yes, an overrated actor indeed. He has a bad resume ... married 3 times? Something not right here me thinks. Also, the day he jumped up and down on Oprah's couch is the day I said his marriage will not last. I was right. Time to move on. He'll get over it and will find another woman.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Hope Katie gets sole custody of their daughter! That poor girl should be protected from being drawn into that Scientology cult by her control freak father.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

As an actor he's so wooden you can get splinters just being next to him... as a husband he's clearly lacking, and as a father... Katie had better get their daughter far far away.

I've been reading a bit about Scientology and it's cracked. I mean a race of aliens descending on Earth in a DC8-shaped spacecraft?

Also, L Ron Hubbard once said that he made 1 cent per word writing novels, to be really rich invent a religion. Looks like he took his own advice.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

My take on it is that Katie is a gold digger who doesn't belong anywhere near movies.

As someone posted here, she knew full well that he was into Scientology when she met and dated him.

He hasn't changed.

She has.

I think he's well rid of her.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

"Take a reality check boys, because TC is hot, rich and popular - and none of your sour-grapes whining is gonna change that."

Nah, I'm twenty years younger so an obvious advantage - and there are plenty of better looking fifty year old stars with Cruise's kinda money that don't offend me. Put him next to someone like Clooney and he'll stand out instantly as small and latently gay.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"He hasn't changed."

Maybe that's what the scientology thing comes in, apparently Travolta got cured for his love of male masseurs and general homosexuality in the same sect.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I usually don't have much time for old Rupie Murdoch - but he and his empire are now tearing this little control-freak, cultist to shreds in their papers worldwide! Tiny Tom will be throwing tantrums as we speak...priceless!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

People are down on Cruise because he is in the process of his third divorce? Man, what is with the intolerance? For some people, relationships can last forever, for others, probably most, they come and go. So what? Do some of you really cling to ancient and medieval ideas like "til death do you part", as if the human mind is a one-size-fits-all shoe, where every one of us has the same needs and desires and can and should stay in a relationship that has run its course?

Everyone is unique. And so I think that every soul yammering about three divorces does so using their own unique blend of smugness and stupidity.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Who give a rats patootii

2 ( +2 / -0 )

My take on it is that Katie is a gold digger who doesn't belong anywhere near movies.

That might be the case if she was a nobody looking for fame and money. But she was already a established actress by the time she met Tiny Tom.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The above said, plenty of reasons to hate Tom Cruise that are actually valid.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Don't pepl get it yet? All his women are beards.

There was a lot of talk in UK a while ago when a male brass tol NOTW about him and Cruise but they didn't publsih due to lack of eidence and he loves to sue.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I think 4 long-term relationships for a 50-year-old is pretty good going. I think that if you marry someone so much younger than you, you're a fool not to expect their opinions to change and mature as they do. I think rich people are bound to have money issues when they get divorced, I'm sure they know this too, and I'm sure the pre-nup deals with it. The main problem is the daughter. It's early days yet, Cruise has said nothing, Holmes has simply applied for a divorce and custody - everything else is crazy-people speculation.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

"Who give a rats patootii"

Bluesea67,

May I commend you for the most relevant point on this thread?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

As for his height - no problem at all. Who wants to need a pair of binoculars to gaze into a beau's eyes, while wearing 4in heels? Not me. Anything much over 175cm is merely an object of curiosity, not a potential partner.

Are you an elf or something?

Tom.... sorry but his religion scares the crap out of me. Just like devout Christians, Muslims.... I hope she gets the kids because you look at Tom's two others with Nicole, he's not been a stellar dad with them - and nor has Nicole been a stellar mom. Suri is ALWAYS with her mom and I hope it stays that way - with visitation rights of course.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Hey, Randy Fred, how do you know what Ms Holmes' religious beliefs are? My word, you do dabble deep in celebrity trivia, with a special interest in Mr Cruise. Fancy your chances there, now that he's a free agent? Nothing wrong with that - I think bisexuality is innate in all of us. I'm sure you know that by now. LOL.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm not a Christian and I definitely think Tom Cruise bat's for the other team.

I wish society would leave gays alone and allow them to be open about it, rather than hiding it at all costs as in Tom's case -spending millions in a scientology sect under the false illusion it will change the way he is.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Where on Earth did this idea come from that Tom Cruise was gay?

As soon as his or Travolta's name comes up we get hit with all this crap about their being gay and the regurgitated crap about Scientology, which, as far as I can see is just a rehash of the same old negative tripe they always dish out when Scientology comes up.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I have always enjoyed toms movies as I can separate his personal freakish life from the profession. He is a weirdo it sure seems...when Katie was forced to have a "silent birth" I though ok he has done it again. Now he is hooking his kid up to some electronic gizmo and drilling them with stuff like "have you lied to a teacher"... Nuts the guy is really nuts. How did that Scientology cult become a religion anyhow?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Les Grossman... thoughts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEBL-k_vF0E&feature=related

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I hadn't seen that film my2sense. He looks to be playing well the latent font of misplaced rage, but the fat and baldness actually suits him.

Vanilla Sky was a film that I would have enjoyed had Tom Cruise not been in it.

Let's face it, the only female fan-base these ageing brat packers have are the fat fifty-some things that were actually old enough to have seen Top Gun at the flicks, possibly still have an original VHS version and still hold out a vain hope that there's maybe a chance....

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@johninnaha - don't know about Cruise, but the Travolta thing is quite recent, when a couple masseurs said he came onto them. It really is irrelevant though, and I agree that it's a shame that people are forced to be in the closet, or to have to constantly prove that they're not. It is nobody's business who someone else has sex with, if it's consensual.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Are you an elf or something?

lol No, just average-petite.

OK, 5'2". And a bit. I'm just not into the kind of bloke who thinks size (and height) are everything. As if they personally actually did anything amazing to get themselves some tall DNA and it makes them somehow more masculine. It doesn't. It just makes them bigger, is all. Maybe not all small packages contain good things, but at least with a bloke of reasonable height you can look him in the eye without getting a crick in your neck.

Any bloke no matter how rich and good-looking would be a put-off for me if he were really serious about religion, whether it's Scientologist, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Rastafarian or anything else. Not scary, just not someone I would have much in common with or feel relaxed with.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It is nobody's business who someone else has sex with, if it's consensual.

You are right, Maria.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

...and legal; and entered into (ooer missus) happily.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Dear tiny Tom, Get off the carpet, and out of the closet. As for your SI FI Religion enough said..

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Cruise has as much money as Mitt Romney: $250 million.

Adam Sandler is Hollywoods third highest money-making performer.

The market has spoken...

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Tom Cruise can get the good looking women. But can't keep them. It's simply because he's controling, selfish, vane, and self centered. I'm just sorry for the kid's and the fact it take's so long for these women to figure Tom out. Good luck and fortune to all those who Tom Cruise hurt. Tom Cruise to you I say; I will never pay another red cent to see one of your movie's. Your not an example to follow, and if your religion is anything like you, then it's not a religion to follow. I feel sorry for the next x-wife you make, and I know you will, I just hope there's on children ...don't have to be a prophet to know that...You should be ashamed....

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

T-Mack

Wow, that's a lot of animosity. I wonder, do you personally know the man? Or know anyone who knows him well?

If not, what's with the animosity? He celebrity. You don't know him.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Sorry, MY bad! JTDanMan, People say I look like him, it kind of burn's me up....I have met him, he is much shorter, again my appology...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Some say he is a bad actor but which films would they be referring to? He did a great job in "Born on The Fourth of July", "Tropic Thunder" and "Risky Business." Why do people hate Tom Cruise and why do they attack him for Scientology? He doesn't care if he's short, he's still laughing all the way to the bank.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

sfip330 have no ideal of why they attack him my friend. They could be envious of his success. Perhaps it is that they sense "blood in the water" and sense this make him ripe to attack. About Scientology while I do not believe in it, he is adult and it is his right.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It doesn't matter when his gender preference is to me - but sadly, it does to many others. He's also made millions out of being a hot guy for women and a cool guy for men. IF he were to come out, I can promise you that would be the end of his career. Sad but true.

Cleo, we're on the same page with regards to religion. I had visions for a moment that you were a keebler elf!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

tmarie - as a Lancashire lass, I'd probably fit in better with the Diddymen of Knotty Ash!

Not that I'm diddy. I'm average-petite.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I had to google that! Keeblers are much, much cuter!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mr Cruise and Scientology are interesting. I like his acting. I have looked into Scientology and do not dislike it. Why do people dislike it so much?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I think people distrust Scientology because it seems too much like a business venture trying to disguise itself as a religion. They apparently ask for donation (and costly amounts at that) for 'spiritual advice'. It's sort of like one of those supposed 'self-help' cheesy, sketchy kind of guys you see on tv (what was the tall guy that sort of looked like the metal-mouthed bad guy from all of the James Bond movies - Tony something?). Probably why our Hollywood elite seem to get into it so much - because they can afford it.

But in essence it's no different than any other organized religion. Promise you miracles it can never seem to deliver, and while shaking your hand with one, they are fleecing your wallet with the other.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I have looked into Scientology and do not dislike it. Why do people dislike it so much?

I have the same question timtak.

It seems to me that whenever the word gets mentioned, people reprint the stuff negative stuff that someone else wrote and he got it off of someone else and so on.

And I notice a similarity with the anti-Scientology crew. Same old lines. Stuff is twisted:

"Hubbard was a science fiction writer."

Not really. Well he did write SOME science fiction. Louis Pasteur rode a bicycle. That doesn't make him a cyclist.

Hubbard was a writer certainly. And he was a philosopher.

Someone said that they had heard that a friend told them that at a party, he had said that he would make more money starting a religion than writing. There's no proof of this. Who knows? If he said it, who knows what context it was in. If you take time to read the Dianetics book and Science of Survival, you KNOW that isn't where he's coming from.

When this came up about Tom Cruise, I dug some of Hubbard's books out of a cupboard and have been rereading them recently. His books are interesting.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The church is a money making scheme - they all are essentially (or a means of maintaining control through fear). If you want to believe in it then by all means jump in with both feet (and bill-fold). I don't need to 'donate money' to be guided in making the correct decisions in my life. I'll have a go myself, and if I screw it up there's no one to blame.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Tom Cruise can get the good looking women. But can't keep them. It's simply because he's controling, selfish, vane, and self centered.

That a description of Hollywood celebs in a nutshell. Britney Spears ( and other 20 something stars) have been married and divorced multiple times. I'm no fan of Tom's, but he's relatively more sane than Charlie Sheen or Alec Baldwin. And why the hostility directed at his height? I doubt Elton John, Robert Redford and Danny DeVito got bullied for being short.
