Trump does not respect art. He sees no merit in art. Even if Voight deserves it, and accepts it with pride, it is not being given with honorable intentions.

What Voight deserves is an award given to him by SOMEONE WHO RESPECTS ART, or at least, someone who is not hurting arts programs and artists around the country with his cabinet members' actions and policies.

That’s a personal subjective opinion.

Every opinion is personal and subjective. You certainly have a way with redundancy.

Did you know he is Angelina Jolies dad.

While at night a candle is brighter than the son, as a lonely Trump supporter Voight has stained his integrity taking this award from Trump, as its obviously for political points that he gave it.

Did you know he is Angelina Jolies dad.

That relationship is mostly by virtue of DNA. As far as being her dad in any sort of relationship capacity, its been on and off, and mostly off. I would not be surprised if this stupid stunt led to another off period.

Porn is never art. Erotic art is but that isn't porn

That’s a personal subjective opinion.

Art isn't just a subjective opinion there are also objective critiques based on the history of art.

Yes, but how one views it is totally subjective. Case in point: Yoko Ono, she’s popular in the art abstract world and has a huge following, but I think her stuff is crap. I could care less what other art critiques think. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I’m beholding her art is crap, that’s my personal subjective opinion and I’m not wrong because it’s my personal opinion. No person can dictate what is good or bad art, you can apply that to food or music. As a musician, I’m a huge fan of Allan Holdsworth, most people don’t know who he is and the average that has listened to his fusion style of guitar playing think he’s way out there, some say good, some say, strange, it’s all subjective, but to me and other fellow musicians he’s one of the best guitarists out there after Hendrix.

Claiming art is subjective is just a cop out by people who have never studied the subject.

Again, that’s your personal opinion and I do respect that.

You can't just pick up a guitar and start banging at the strings and then call it music regardless of your subjective opinion.

Yes, you can, I personally wouldn’t, but you can if you so choose. Listen to early Zappa...

You first have to learn to play it and also learn music and practice at least on a daily basis and then you might get to a point of being able to perform.

Yes, but whether a person likes your music at that point has his/her personal opinion of what they think sounds good.

Art is a life time of study. You need to learn the rules first before you can start to break them.

But that has nothing to do with your personal subjective opinion of whether you think an art piece is good or not.

Better not buy any expensive paintings if all you have are subjective opinions.

Why not? I can use my money any which way I want.

Art experts need more than that.

They might, but as a buyer, I do not and I could care less what the experts think.

Trump does not respect art.

uhh, how would you know that?

He sees no merit in art. Even if Voight deserves it, and accepts it with pride, it is not being given with honorable intentions.

Ok, so more bloviating

What Voight deserves is an award given to him by SOMEONE WHO RESPECTS ART, or at least, someone who is not hurting arts programs and artists around the country with his cabinet members' actions and policies.

I think art would be however you interpret it, it’s what you want it to be or how you see it, it’s subjective and in that case, Trump is spot on.

Firstly, an actor is not an artist.

That is your personal definition, but acting is an art, it is a skill of pretending to be something or someone that you’re not whether it is live or if it is on the TV

Actors are craftspeople, not artists. You slag off Hollywood actors as elitists.

Most are especially the liberals ones that try and tell everyone how to think, feel and whom to vote for.

I guess you make exceptions when they support Trump.

there’s nothing to do with the president, it has everything to do with their often eccentric hypocritical behavior

I doubt Trump knows much about the arts directly. Does he own famous paintings. Does he donate. Does he visit exhibitions or go to plays?

Well, you wouldn’t know and I wouldn’t know, at this point it’s only liberals just speculating

Trump favors porn over art.

Which can be an art form as well.

I suppose you mean like Trump in the Oval Office?

That would be Bill

There is a difference between a work of art and an art piece. Works of art evoke the sublime.

Either way, how you perceive them and evaluate them is a personal opinion.
