"Mothers of the Disappeared" may be u2's most underrated song. Beautiful.

“It seems like we have come full circle from when ‘The Joshua Tree’ songs were originally written, with global upheaval, extreme right-wing politics and some fundamental human rights at risk,” he said in a statement.

Yes, the USSR was on its last legs, Japan was forecast to buy up most of the US, the Iraq Iran war was dragging on, Apartheid was a national policy and Margaret Thatcher was leading the UK. Maybe the world has always been in turmoil...

I like Ronald Reagan, Maggie Thatcher - free market economics is the way to go and what will make the entire world great once again.

I also like the Joshua Tree for it was pretty good music, but never thought about the lyrics at all (except where the streets have no name).

Good luck U2

I preferred the earlier albums. Joshua Tree was designed to appeal to the American market and take the band from being Indie to mainstream.
