Express sister
I thought that your objection to Loki was that Disney was doing something new and original with the character?
Thank you.

Yes. @Express sister 12:00pm, Loki does ‘give birth’ and takes the form of a woman, from time to time. (Btw: Nice to hear from you again, in this new ‘form’at) - Agreed. Nothing ‘wrong’ with ‘The mythology’,
And, even Thor ‘cross-dresses’ for a time. Again, nothing wrong with any of that or,… in Your words, “triggering”. (No need to be ‘baiting’ or condescending. ‘Civility’ is important for ‘equality’ and communication, don’t you agree?)
Are there other things Disney could do or are they incapable, anymore, of generating new and original ideas?
Agreed. It’s definitely NOT a societal injustice for your advocacy here, … or our mutual ‘activism’. (Let’s go to “National”, “Politics” or “World” for that.)
It’s just “Entertainment” and the reason we’re both here.
Strangerland
Other than the parts about 'no one' and being 'angry', everything you said was correct.
And the rights to write whatever story they want belongs to Disney and Marvel.

this is so mind-bogglingly disgusting and it's been turned into a cash crop. Even Ziggy Stardust would be nauseated by this racket. Or the people of planet Claire.

No one’s angry @Strangerland 7:42am. Only ‘Lazarus knows’ why you would make such an observation:
These weren’t “Disney/Marvel’s” comic books. The stories were already told and belonged to the fans that paid for them. They were a modern mythology meant to entertain and NOT preach about ‘social injustices’ - (Many left that to religion and politics. Please go and ‘enjoy’ those if you like.)
Real ‘people’, both men & women, working hard in life, just want to escape for a short time and be entertained. They’re growing tired of being preached to by these inexperienced, immature minds, who want to re-fashion the entire world as a “safe space”. - THAT is a fantasy and not realistic.
Seems those Hollywood and comics interns are apparently ‘scared’ individuals, both emotionally and mentally challenged by ‘the real world’, are only making efforts to destroy & reconstruct ‘fictional characters’. Otherwise, they’re ill-equipped and powerless in the “Real World” to make use of their useless, ‘gender-studies and other’ impractical degrees.

Of course he does. His next movie “panderama”.

snowymountainhell, step away from the screen. I understand you are triggered by a thing happening in a TV show made for adolescents, but there are other things you can watch. It really isn't that important.
Loki gives birth in the mythology.
snowymountainhell
If Disney is so ‘family-oriented’, ‘empowering’ to all(?), politically progressive have they lost sight to be ‘innovative and creative’? Why can’t they create some “New Ideas” with new characters, new stories, etc. Agreed @HatsuneToday 9:12am”
Why must Disney appropriate and repurpose ‘Classics’ to fit the agenda of just a few of their new content ‘producers obviously being counseled by college interns with little, practical life-experience’?
snowymountainhell
This was all part an ancient culture’s mythology that was used to give some ‘tangible’ explanations to the ‘forces of nature’ and to psychologically deal with the unpredictability & dangers of life in the world, at that time. Mythos developed before the constraints of dogmatic religions and was to both teach, and entertain.
The original ‘Marvel Comics’, like the original ‘WALT Disney’ films, seemed to ‘respect the origins of most of these characters’ in ‘their’ past renditions of comics and film.
So, why try *so hard *NOW to ‘mess with all of it’?
HatsuneToday
Disney is so far gone at this point none of this surprises me.
Strangerland
It's weird that people are so angry that Marvel is doing with their comic book movies what they did with their comics - appealing to the disaffected in society and empowering them.
snowymountainhell
People can be people on as they choose. We don’t need Disney to recreate the world ‘in Their image’. - Let females be female, let males be male. - If Loki wants to “cross-dress”, let him. -
In Norse mythology, he was born a “boy”, a “son” of giants and tricked others into ‘becoming a god’. One of his ‘tricks’ is to assume the ‘form of a woman’ but he will always revert back to male.
snowymountainhell
Disney has ‘No Originality’. Not only will they ‘gender-swap’ ”Loki”, they are giving him a ‘redemption arc’, turning a villain into a hero.
So, basically, retelling the original “Thor” movie- outline?
