Netflix wants to be paid for the content it pays for. Sorry, folks. No free rides in life.

This could actually backfire for Netflix. Many people sign up for Netflix because at least until now it is possible to share the password with family members and friends. But if this feature starts to block that then many people might unsubscribe as well as they will feel it’s not worth it! With so many streaming companies available Netflix might lose customers as well...a dangerous thread to pull !

Seems more like a security feature. If you are a friend or family member it should be pretty easy to get the code from them.

So if my kids are staying with their grandparents for the weekend and they want to watch their Netflix shows, they won't be able to?

Fantastic move there, Netflix......

I'm not a huge fan of Netflix, but I am surprised at the complaints here. For less than the cost of one movie, you get 24/7 entertainment for one month. There is no obligation to renew, so I don't think it's likely that people who are unwilling to pay that small amount for one month are going to be sold after using it for free.

If you get this message and are illegally sharing an account, how is Netflix going to keep you from asking the account owner from forwarding the text message via a SNS.

I searched for very good films and only found 5 out of 100, Not worth it to pay your hard earned money. Better spend at local shops, markets, agricultural activities.

As it says right in the article you can delay the verification and keep watching. So in your case you can give them the code when you get the chance.
