Don't tell Trump.

Kamala Harris made history as she became the first Black person, first woman and first Asian-American to serve as vice president.

I guess finally someone got it right that she isn't African American.

Wow, this must be a new record for "losing"...

And we haven't even gotten to the impeachment and tax and insurance fraud trials yet...

Didn’t know flags could watch tv. Oops...the flags were watching in person.

I guess finally someone got it right that she isn't African American.

Her father was from Jamaica with ancestors from Africa. Afro-Jamaican.

Her mother is from India - so South Asian mix.

Regardless, congratulations to her.

Elon Musk and Charlize Theron are both African-American, BTW.

We spend way to much time labeling each other. Human should be sufficient.

Even Rafael Cruz and Mike Pence were watching (and attending)!

The only reason ratings were high, is the same as the reason people watch NASCAR. Hoping to see a violent wreck.

I think he's in Florida, though.

And how is that a South Asian mix?

We spend way to much time labeling each other.

That's because of this new left identity thing, and she uses that to her advantage..

Keep winning Joe.

according to Nielsen data released on Thursday

Just 4% increase..not much..this firm Nielsen has faced many lawsuits in the past for ratings manipulation, not to mention discrimination

yeah right, after all Joe Biden did get more votes than any president in American history didn’t he?

its a real shame the general public couldn’t attend the inauguration isn’t it?

Ask yourself who benefited from the “insurrection”?

Nothing to see here..... move along folks

Yes.

Yes.

Nobody. Well, maybe some lawyers.

4 years ago it wasn't in the midst of a pandemic where people were scared to go outside so defacto glued to their TV's. But if this makes you happy so be it lol.

Now you say this after Biden used identity politics throughout his campaign. Every news source boasting about Kamala being the first anything has been left wing.

Many, many Americans could not watch the event as they were duped by con artists to believe it would not happen at all. According to these deluded rubes Trump should still be in the WH. Well Biden is in the WH now and Trump is sleeping on someones couch somewhere. Just amazing how gullible the rightwing is and unfortunately always will be. Some shrewd con artist like Bannon is coming up with the next wacko conspiracy theory to wrap up the weak minded.

She is still a politician and will seek any advantage she can get. Put yourself into someone else's shoes for a little bit. How many times was she called something mean (or worse) just because of her skin? Heck, I bet she heard/read some nasty words just after the inauguration from small minded people afraid of the "browning of America." Treat people as you'd like to be treated is a pretty simple rule.

Biden isn't my ideal President and Ms. Harris isn't my ideal VP, but they are much better than the alternative. For me, it is about policy, nothing else ... well ... Biden's age is a problem. I don't care what color skin, which sex, either happen to have. Both have sufficient background to work the US system, both will follow scientific advisors, and right now that is so much more than the prior ... person.

I've never understood why normal people would watch any political even on video/TV. Sure, watch the 30 second video that will play for the next 24 hrs AFTER it has happened just to see it did happen, but watching live? Really? Millions of people watching something boring doesn't make it anymore exciting. Sure, if politics is your business watch. It isn't like anyone will be taking fashion queues from those people.

No he didn't.

The post-truth right-wing hasn't disappeared with Trump unfortunately.

I think more people were watching because they wanted to see a civilized human being get into the WH again. and Joe sure didn't throw a temper-tantrum of an innauguration speech, did he? Turniptrump did not win the popular vote in 2016 and his 'innauguration' was repulsive at best. 81 million + Americans voted for Joe and I think many of us also wanted to see a safe transition too. Many people were afraid Trumpturd's thugs might've tried another rotten stunt like Jan. 6 again. I'm glad that didn't happen.

Ask yourself who benefited from the “insurrection”?

In the end, it was the American people. The insurrection destroyed any notion of the fantasy that the GOP was in politics for the people, and exposed that they've only been in it for the power ever since they sold their party to Trump.

It was a harsh reality, but the people are better for seeing it, though it may take a little healing to get past.
