This proves that the yanks do have a huge fascination with the royal family & ultimately wish they had a royal family of their own

America does have a history of fake monarchy. The Kennedy family has been referred to as 'Camelot' and the Reagan administration was technically looked upon as one as well.

Let's face it... Oprah has become irrelevant.

Ummmm:

Let's face it... Oprah has become irrelevant. Not only did she, without apology, race bait, knowing exactly the Amerikan audience that pays attention to this crap.

For somebody complaining about his privacy being invaded, appearing in front of a few million viewers does not exactly help his cause.

They have little privacy now.

The British press (the right-wing ones anycase) can be real nasty. Phone hacking, including those of a murdered child, as well as famous people. People like Rupert Murdoch and Piers Morgan are pure scum.

Reading the comments here I am extra glad that I didn't watch it.

I personally feel sorry for Meghan and Harry. The press can be really sly and bigotted in Britain with little regard for people's feelings. This is a wake-up call for the British royal family and its secret doings. I admire royal families in continental Europe ( Holland, Sweden, Denmark, etc..) more for their empathy and humility.

Harry and Meghan have chosen to take a route/course of action that could be seen as outright confrontation.

They both need to take a step back, or the very media attention both insist they want to avoid, could provoke a unintended response.

Both walked away, fair enough, however Harry and Meghan cannot, or will not accept the reality of such a decision, hence the interview.

The angry huffing and puffing, squabbling, is undignified, unnecessary.

...with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, broadcaster CBS said on Monday.

Shouldn’t that be “with Meghan Markle and her husband Harry”?

I could see this happening from the beginning, knowing that his wife divorced before the relationship. I'm sure she was in it for the royalty, fame, and money.

And now he fairy tale world isn't what she dreamed of. She gave up her US citizenship for this too, now she has to take her lumps.

Thanks to the 18th century efforts of General Washington, the British royal family is of scant interest to me -- although I admit to having enjoyed "The King's Speech."

BION there was a 2 CD recording of the Big Fat British Wedding sold by Barnes and Noble in the USA. It don't mean squat to me. And if I was a Briton I'd go along with the Sex Pistols. God Save The Queen. I have better things to do than watch this rubbish.

I have always been dubious that Harry is a real royal anyway. Just look at any family photo of the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family and you will see how he stands out like a sore thumb. As for some of the reported comments by MM, they do sound a little farfetched. Why would a baby need a royal security detail? not like he is toddling off by himself. and I find it unbelievable that any member of the clan would say something that stupid about baby's possible colour.

"Oppressed" millionaires being interviewed by an "oppressed" billionaire. I think I will pass on this one.

I think Harry holds his Father and by association the Monarchy institutions at least partially responsible.

To lose a parent at Harry then age under such circumstances must be a horrendous unimageable trauma.

Surely that will affect ones outlook on life?

A couple can hold a wedding with or without witnesses but won't be legal until registered with the authority. Grandchildren of a monarch in this case when Charles becomes king their children will receive royal titles.

How infantile and peevish can a father be?

Ironic, considering his father was one of many royals who contributed to a waning popularity of his family during the nineties. Adultery, jealousy and tampons anyone? Diana's death gave the family (her sons excluded) undeserved sympathy and help rebrand its image. Still, to this day, that family keeps coming up with one scandal or another.

People were saying how MM had made Kate cry and it turns out it was the other way round. Well, well, well. It's amazing how things get distorted when you still have lying tabloids like the daily mail.

Harry blames the world and his wife for the death of his mother.

No, he doesn't. He blames paparazzi and scum like daily mail.

Maybe I'll watch it but at some point but from what little I've seen apparently there are already two lies in it:

UK weddings need two witnesses so the couple couldn't have got married with only a priest present

her son's too far down the line to get a title anyway, not because the royals don't want to give him one

Don't take it at face value anyway

they should start a collaboration with the Kardashians. level-wise, getting quite close

Contrived from the off, difficult to watch, nauseating, toe curling, nearly brought up my breakfast.

Palace aides heads need roll.

This is intimate, deeply personal private confidential family only, not to be broadcast.

All families go though ups and down, you deal with it, you sit down , and no how painful/difficult reach out and talk. Heal some way or another.

Harry and Meghan have more axes to grind that Game of Thrones.

Harry needs help from a professional psychotherapist,

Harry blames the world and his wife for the death of his mother. Harry will not move on until he recognizes his demons.

Prince Charles cut off communication with Prince Harry when it became apparent that the couple would leave for the US.

How infantile and peevish can a father be?
