Actress Valerie Harper of 'Mary Tyler Moore show' dies at 80

RIP to her. I never understood her desire to always lose weight on the MTM Show. She had a smoking bod.

Seems like yesterday that I used to look so much forward to Saturday nights on CBS with All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, and Carol Burnett.  Hard to believe it was almost 50 years ago.

Valerie Harper was great in the role of Rhoda. RIP.

Out of all those listed only Carol Burnett herself is still living. Tim Conway died of dementia earlier this year.

I was just a little kid then but then TV was so much fun. And as a young adult I remember the 'Valerie' show/'Hogan Family'.

'What has happened to it all. Crazy some will say. Where is the life I once recognized? Gone away'

To be honest, I thought she'd died ages ago because I remember her saying she didn't have much longer to live because of terminal cancer. Have good memories of watching Rhoda with my sister. The mother, Brenda and the doorman who we never saw.
