Now I remember. The name was familiar. YMO, what a cool quirky band they were. And I saw the movie 'Last Emperor' a long time ago, it's really good.
And he was a fighter for the planet's environment. RIP to a real artist and activist who was true to the core, not looking for fame.

What a talent. He defined the age in many ways. So sad to hear of his death.

Also did some nice keyboards for Public Image Ltd. on 'Rise' (or 'Single') with John Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten of 'The sex pistols'

Just remembering his collaboration with Iggy Pop, not often mentioned... https://youtu.be/sOmuFTk1tLk

One of my relatives was lucky enough to have Sakamoto in the audience watching her performance. After the show he spoke with her and gave her his name card. He said they should collaborate in the future. Unfortunately she never had the chance. RIP

RIP to a great musician and cultural icon.
I saw YMO live at the Bottom Line (which closed in 2004) back in 1976. Tunes like Raideen and Tong Poo still ring in my head after all these years.
