Stepchildren are more likely to be abused than biological children. Generally speaking. Glad that Ellen turned out “okay.” So many don’t.

She explained that her stepfather, who is deceased, first assaulted her when her mother was out of town, telling DeGeneres that he needed to feel her breasts to make sure she had no lumps.

Here we go again decades after the fact, finger pointing done without any proof. The step father is deceased so he cant defend himself.

clarifying at the time that the assaults did not influence her sexual orientation

Though she may not admit it or even realize it, there is actually a high chance that it did.

Very high percentages of homosexual adults were, in fact, sexually abused as minors. They are often also abused in other ways as kids.

Time to set aside the political correctness and the emotions, grown-ups. Numbers, statistics, and research don't lie:

Very sad to hear, but not that surprising. Contrary to what Lady Gaga says, people are not generally born that way.

She told Allure [in a 2005 interview], “People I’ve confided in about [the abuse] before say, ‘Oh, that’s why you’re a lesbian.’ But I was a lesbian way before that. My earliest memories are of being a lesbian.”

He probably guessed that she was gay and used that confusion and vulnerability in her to his advantage.

Violent and abusive people prey on those who are vulnerable. A gay teen, over forty years ago, certainly counts as vulnerable. Plus her extreme worry over her mother's illness.

As for her 'turning' gay... when did you heteros turn straight?

Nice try but most sane people don't buy that. Perhaps Ellen should have prayed more, right?
