Shinji Tanimura, 64, Takao Horiuchi, 63, and Toru Yazawa 63, members of Japanese folk-rock band Alice, have announced that the band is to embark on a tour of Japan. It will be the band's first tour encompassing all 47 prefectures in their 42-year history.

Tanimura said that last time the band toured in 2009, they only visited Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, Sports Nippon reported. "This time we'd like to visit Tohoku and the towns affected by the earthquake and tsunami," he added. The band also plans to play some smaller, intimate shows in the hardest-hit areas.

The tour is to kick off in Osaka on May 5, the day on which the band first formed. The 52-date tour will arrive in Tokyo on July 15 when the band plays at Fuchu no Mori Geijutsu Gekijo and continue on to the Tokyo International Forum on Aug 3.

The band also announced that it is working on its first studio album in 26 years. The album is scheduled for release on April 10.
