@crashtestdummy. No one said people can control 100% of everything, unless you are a hermit living up a mountain it’s impossible to be 100% in control. What idiot would believe that? It is possible, however, to reduce the risk of catching the virus and this is the purpose of social distancing, bubbles, masks, handwashing, vaccinations etc. An example of reducing risk on set; a pivotal scene in a recent episode of Eastenders required a character to be arrested, to adhere to social distancing/bubble rules the actor’s son played the arresting officer.

@Luddite Many cast and crew are expected to stay in social bubbles to prevent contact with the virus. The current series of I’m A Celebrity is almost finished in the U.K., contestants had to isolate for two weeks and were tested before being allowed to take part.

It is a ridiculous premise to say that those in those circles are protected and in some sort of bubble. They can't control 100% of everything around them. Someone could get infected in the cab, rental car, hotel room, using the bathroom, convenience store, etc, etc. They are around tons of people who have also been around tons of people. Hollywood can't expect to be more protected than any of the general public taking the same precautions. The reality is that Hollywood is allowed a different set of rules because they have more power and more money is involved to be above the rules and regulations.

Another example is Tesla. Tesla threatened Alameda county in California to move its manufacturing plant to Texas if county officials didn't allow them to open their manufacturing plant. Sure enough, they let Tesla open. I respect Musk for calling them out on their shutdowns, but it just shows that there are different set of rules to different entities and the difference is how much money is involved.

How is Hollywood able to make movies during the shutdowns with the social distancing and mask regulations? There is lots of stuff going on behind the curtain not known to the public.

No, Gavin Newsom gave Hollywood an exception green card, they’re now allowed to make money and make movies, but the rest of us have to live confined and locked up.

Now people don't have the excuse of not wanting to go to the theaters

No one Cares about going to the movies any more anyway.

People say that every year, and every year people go to see movies anyways

(And let's not forget it was a mere year ago that the Avengers: Endgame movie was sold out morning till midnight for weeks. People have such short memories)

But don't worry, one of these years you'll be right - probably when everyone has their own movie theater in their home

Hollywood has had its best days !

No one Cares about going to the movies any more anyway.

In Japan the recent success of the Kimetsu No Yaiba movie suggests otherwise. Although I actually think in other countries it’s not because of a lack of content but a lack of respect by fellow movie-goers. That and the price.

That’s the end for movie theaters.

@crashtestdummy. It is possible to film while adhering to social distancing. Filming for TV restarted in the U.K. a few weeks back, it does present problems though and limits certain scenes and photography. Many cast and crew are expected to stay in social bubbles to prevent contact with the virus. The current series of I’m A Celebrity is almost finished in the U.K., contestants had to isolate for two weeks and were tested before being allowed to take part.

Excellent idea. I will go to see some of the releases at thr theater for sure. I like having the option to watch at home too. I guess I will be getting HBO Max now.
