“Once again with the left...”

Dude, what does this article have to do with “the left”??

It’s about sexual assault

5 ( +7 / -2 )

its a well known fact that quite a number of these women were trading favours in the bedroom for favours in acting roles.

And he ruined the careers of women who resisted like Rosanna Arquette and Mira Sorvino just the same.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The allegations ranged from unwanted sexual advances to rape and forced oral sex.

Isn't any 'forced penetration' considered 'rape' these days? Forced oral sex is rape in my book.

Good post clamenza (& fizzbit), totally agree, no political side is in a position to claim the moral high ground.

As for actors and so called 'women's rights activists' who decided to boycott twitter for one day (!!!) yesterday, I think this trivial & pathetic boycott explains why this has been going on for decades: they don't really care or at least not enough to really ACT even if that means jeopardizing their career. By not speaking up for decades they gave their tacit approval and their silly one-day boycott of twitter (seriously, how out of touch is that) isn't going to change anything.

Me thinks he doth protest too much.

Oliver Stone is known to treat his actors pretty badly. Not that he assaulted anyone. But he kind of a putz from what people say.

Actually just today he was accused of grabbing an actress years ago at a Hollywood party.

The false Hwood moralizing from past decades is now crumbling. O Stone should be considering the victims also. More revelations are coming.

A lot of these "actresses" that have suddenly come out of "no where" to condemn Weinstein used to line up to use his influence to get good acting roles - its a well known fact that quite a number of these women were trading favours in the bedroom for favours in acting roles.

Blame the women.

Blame the victims.

Blame the "leftists".

Never, ever blame the powerful men from all walks of life who sexually abuse and rape.

Right?

Never never fail to push the myth of a rape culture in the west because all men are exactly like Harvey Weinstein.

Right??

You're the only one saying that. Makes a change from your usual focus on Muslims, I suppose.

You should make your mind up; either Weinstein is a sexual predator or not.

But yes you and the same old faces jabber on excitedly about rape culture in the west when it doesn’t exist.

As I said; you should make your mind up. This is your post:

All the actors, from Weinstein to his Hollywood enablers to the Democratic politicians who browbeat average citizens over the years, are all complicit.

That's all actors, you say. The whole of Hollywood. A rape culture right there.

Not to mention the Catholic clergy rape culture in the US, Australia, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Italy, Poland, Norway, The Netherlands.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_sex_abuse_cases_by_country

Or college campus rape culture, the air force academy

https://www.globalresearch.ca/rampant-sexual-violence-against-women-and-rape-on-college-campuses-across-america/5391303

By denying the widespread abuse and sexual assault of women and children, you enable it.

This thread has gone off the deep end.

Stone said let the prosecution make a case before we go ahead and execute the big W. Generally speaking, this is the wise way to go.

Seems like some people just can’t hold their horses.

@toasted heretic,

why did you cast doubt on the fact that men ever get prosecuted for their evil deeds, and then proceed to provide a list a of cases where they actually did? doesn’t that just prove that the guilty pay for their crimes, and that if Weinstein actually did what the actresses claim he did, he will eventually get his just deserts, no matter how much we speculate? or was your point more that men are just evil in general?

Interesting that some poor poster the other day claimed the left "immediately rejects" people like Weinstein when in fact, as CNN's own Jeff Zeleny reported "Most of the leaders of the Democratic Party are beholden to Weinstein" and his millions of dollars in donations.

Nice.

Not only HIS millions, but the millions he can get by having a little Hollywood party. There was a story I saw yesterday about the famous chef Anthony Bourdain whose wife or girlfriend says she was attacked by this perv. He sent a tweet and then the knee jerkers attacked him for some how supporting Trump. He was very pissed I'd imagine as he's very public about his dislike of Trump.

He is. He broke the mold.

But yes you and the same old faces jabber on excitedly about rape culture in the west when it doesn’t exist.

Never mind he has already changed his statement and is now "appalled" too and won't work with the Weinstein company for now. He was "traveling" and wasn't really aware that there are a lot of women now not just a few.

The myth is so easily exposed it’s scandalous.

Morning after regret and invitations to dinner are now considered sexual assault .

people who keep pushing the rape culture myth only cheapen the real victims of sexual assault, and further victimize innocent young men.

Its time to stop pretending safe havens like colleges are more dangerous than the Congo where rape is used as a weapon.

At least Stone has the guts to go down with the ship. Lots of Limousine Liberals are coming out of the woodwork to distance themselves from Weinstein. Most of them - like longtime friends Meryl Streep and George Clooney - claiming ignorance when the entire industry knew.

And then you have Jimmy Kimmel. Just days after pontificating about gun laws and the Obamacare debate, now silent on his good friend's exploits. When asked why there is a lack of Weinstein jokes in his monologues, he does a 180 and says he is not the "moral conscience of America".

Interesting that some poor poster the other day claimed the left "immediately rejects" people like Weinstein when in fact, as CNN's own Jeff Zeleny reported "Most of the leaders of the Democratic Party are beholden to Weinstein" and his millions of dollars in donations.

Once again with the left, its "Do as I say, not as I do."

Dude, what does this article have to do with “the left”??

it has everything to do with the left. All the actors, from Weinstein to his Hollywood enablers to the Democratic politicians who browbeat average citizens over the years, are all complicit. It goes to show that the most vocal groups of SJWs in the world are usually empty, broken little people.
