Alen, was a leading edge Sci-Fi / Horror movie, the follow-ons sadly were lesser to its originality.

No, please!! No more spider-like aliens, mutants or superheroes. How about a good story with little or no CG? Too much to ask for, huh?

The original Alien had no CGI, nor Bladerunner (which was one of the last though just before the technological breakthroughs occurred). For instance in an interview with John Hurt as Kane, he recalls how only he knew what was to happen when the baby Alien was to burst out of his abdomen, which made all the surprise and horror of the scene among the onlooking actors very natural. And a guy called Baloji Badejo played the alien in an alien suit.

However, these days even Robin Hood had CGI.
