Oscar-winning director Woody Allen described a new documentary that details his alleged sexual abuse of his young adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow as "a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods."
HBO broadcast the first episode of the four-part series "Allen v. Farrow" on Sunday.
In it, Farrow, Allen's adopted daughter with actress Mia Farrow, repeats her allegation that Allen sexually assaulted her in August 1992 when she was seven years old.
The 84-year-old director of "Annie Hall" and "Manhattan" has always denied the abuse and has been cleared of the charges after two separate months-long investigations.
"These documentarians had no interest in the truth," Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn said in a statement.
"Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their enablers to put together a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods.
"As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false. Multiple agencies investigated them at the time and found that, whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse had ever taken place," they added.
The statement said that Allen and Previn "were approached less than two months ago and given only a matter of days 'to respond,'" which they declined to do.
"While this shoddy hit piece may gain attention, it does not change the facts," the statement said.
Many actors have distanced themselves from Allen since the #MeToo movement in 2017 and the publication of a column by Dylan Farrow.
In 2019, Allen settled a multimillion dollar breach of contract lawsuit against Amazon, which cancelled a four-movie deal with him over the long-standing allegations.

He adopted a 7 year-old girl and then took her as a wife.
That may be okay with the Hollywood crowd but as a conservative I can't tolerate this type of behavior.
It seems that there are no morals or taboos anymore among the liberal Hollywood elite.

Soon-Yi was not Allen's adopted daughter. This falsehood is repeated endlessly. Her adopted father was Andre Previn, one of Mia Farrow's husbands.
No reference in the documentary, as far as I'm aware, of Soon-Yi's allegations of being severely abused in childhood by her adopted mother Mia Farrow, physically and psychologically. To admit that such allegations might be true does not fit with the desired narrative these days. Soon-Yi is one woman whose voice has been silenced because it may point to some inconvenient truths.
There are indeed monsters in Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby being two of the worst examples. But Woody Allen isn't one of them.

The story is: Partial truths used to sell tickets and defame ex-husband.

Agreed. Liberals in Hollywood have always been dismissive about WA and his sick obsession with children, particularly his own. Everyone jumped on Mia as being mentally disconnected and gave Woody a complete pass.
Disgusting.

I don’t believe for one moment Allen perpetrated acts of abuse against Dylan Farrow.
What isn’t in dispute is Woody Allen seduced and then married Mia Farrow adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, this action alone is bound to have unimaginable consequences.
Hence the four-part documentary, "Allen v. Farrow".....
Woody Allen committed act of betrayal that is frankly beyond redemption, at least in the eyes of Mia and Dylan.

There are many men out there who are a father to children in many ways, even though there are no biological ties or they are not married to their partner. Still they are a father figure and children accept and love them as such. WA is in this category. Lock him up and throw the key away

ROFL, conservative!!!
Conservatism is dead in America, it’s been taken over the bigoted right, who will idolize a serial cheater, and a lot worse.

Not that is matters in Russia, it’s the bigots all the way there!!!!

I don't know, but it certainly wasn't Woody Allen.

This is the difference in American 'justice' and the difference between Roman Polanski and this piece of excrement: Not who you are but what you are...
