X Japan vocalist Toshi announces divorce, sayonara concert

X Japan vocalist Toshi announced his divorce and separation from the self-development seminar group, "Home of Heart," this week, and will perform a "sayonara show" produced by band leader Yoshiki on Feb 24.

Toshi told reporters at a press conference that details on the location for the show, which would "separate" him from the past, would be announced at a later date.

On Tuesday night, Yoshiki posted a comment on his official mobile phone website saying, "I hope we can support Toshi from both close and afar... Now and in the future, our feelings for him won't change."

Toshi's wife Kaori, 40, whom he is currently in the process of divorcing, posted on her own blog a cryptic message that said, "To become a ladder for someone important, to get covered in mud for the one you love.. that's enough."

Whoa down there camper. X-Japan is one of the truly great rock bands to ever hit the stage. Original sound, in your face guitar licks, and a "I don't give a damn" attitude seperated this group from the rest years ago. The clincher for me though is that anytime a Japan X song came on the air- you knew it immediately ! Totally original sound, whether you like it or not, they deserve respect.

Ok, now I've thrown up in my mouth. If this is so, why cant 99.9% of the population sing a few bars? People who like this "band" are the same who loved the Monkees and Milli Vanilli. All style and no substance. Then again, if you're a 13 year old Japanese teenager, you're excused.

"People who like this "band" are the same who loved the Monkees and Milli Vanilli."

Actually I'd say people who like this band are more inclined to listen to Rush or early AC/DC !

X Japan's music encourages me everyday. I listen to very little music but their's. I thank them everyday for their beautiful melodies and lyrics. I know you some of you deride them and that is your perogative. However, I wish Toshi all the very best and hope that, with the support of all who respect him, he will recover from this.

We are X!!! Ganbatte Toshi. Ganbatte!

If he were one of my battle buddies.... who 1 left his wife, 2, announced a goodby concert...if I were his friend, I would be really concerned for him.

X JAPAN ROCKS!

Toshi is the best.

X-Japan: Where cheesy rock cliches and weak-assed hair & make-up metal poodles will never die! But they will divorce/separate/sayonara... whatever, every few years in a desperate attempt to stay in the media spotlight. And then there's the pathetic "like a phoenix from the fire!" eventual comeback concert.

Branded- if you actually like this band then you're lost man, lost. I recommend you start listening to The Boredoms immediately. True, heavy Japanese music- not these watered-down, talentless, poser-hacks.

LOL, so much hate for a band?

It's objectively total rubbish. Nothing in Japanese music is better than the western version they are trying to clone.

nice sum-up of home of heart, seminar group.

In jpns tabloids it is written up as a new religion cult/ harem of 10+ women for another famous musician, this guy masayo (?) & until recently Toshi. Toshi is coming out in the media about how it is a brainwashing outfit (on the women) and he was used to make money for it. the last ten or so yrs he's put most of his earnings as donations to house of heart, as well as tithing his wife and is apparently deeply in debt, now. Other HOH escapees made comments like they feel for him & are glad he's coming clean about the outfit, but they want him to accept responsibility for being the face of HOH and being a big part of the lure of getting women to join the group.

Don't know if all that's true, but it's what I read on my lunch break the other day.

he is exceptional, very good.
