Yon-sama invites 600 fans to photo shoot at Tokyo Dome

South Korean actor and heartthrob Bae Yong Joon, popularly known as Yon-sama in Japan, has invited 600 of his fans to attend a formal photo shoot in December when he visits Japan.

The shoot, which is to take place on Dec 14 at Tokyo Dome, has been organized by Japanese cable channel DATV, which brings non-Japanese Asian stars to their fans in Japan. The photo session is part of the "Message! to Asia" charity show and will be filmed in front of a live audience.

Although photo shoots are usually private affairs, this time specially selected fans will not only be able to attend the shoot, they will also be able to take photos of Yon-sama with their own cameras.

Only 600? That's only about one in a hundred thousand of his fans in Japan...

they'll only have to pay 100,000yen each for the privelege

Heartthrob? Yeah right. Most of his fans are in their 50s and 60s. Why does he need Tokyo Dome for only 600 fans?

Along with Japan's fading economic power, her soft power is also being usurped by the ubiquitous Korean wave.

He's loved by countless Japanese Oba-san! No wonder, he also looks like one of them!

I like Yon sama, he is the only Korean actor I can actually remember, name wise. I hope he does not suicide like all these other famous Koreans.

Right. I don't know what the heck oba-sans see in this guy, other than the White Sonata fame. K-women, now that's another story entirely.

Dear Mr.Bae Yong Joon We don't need to hear Japanese say I love Korea because of Mr.Bae.There will never be genuine respect and friendship between Koreans and Japanese unless Japan unties the knot which it tied in the first place..Sincere friendship between 2 Asian neighbours will only come when Japan truly is sorry and compensate for its own wrongdoings it inflicted on Korean people.

Don't get me wrong I am a Korean who has nice Japanese friends both male and female and my family member(sister) is married to Japanese-American..I am trying to help Koreans and Japanese become better neighbours and friends because in the future we will need each other more than ever before..

Love him or hate him, you can't deny that he has been a huge star for the last 10 years. If I were able to scam millions of dollars out of Japanese housewives, I would.

This comment fits nicely with this article all right...

I actually think he's a very good actor! Whether his fans are all oba-san or not, I think he's attractive, though he looks a lot better with black hair.

he made me cry portraying a man dying from brain tumor, at the end he could not speak, talk or see. Great actor.
