Topcoat talent to stage charity event

Talent management company Topcoat, which represents such stars as actress Yoshino Kimura, 34, and actor Hiroki Narimiya, 28, will hold a charity fundraising event at Ebisu Garden Hall on April 2. The event, named "Our Heart is One," will include charity collections and merchandise sales to raise money for survivors of the earthquake and tsunami which devastated the Tohoku area of Japan on March 11.

The company had planned a different event named Topcoat Collection to celebrate its own 15th anniversary, which was to take place on April 1 and 2. That event has now been canceled and replaced by the fundraiser. The company said that credit for the idea of holding a fundraising event is due to Kimura. After the idea was mooted, a group of 13 celebrities, including actor Shunsuke Daito, 25, and model Anne, 24, agreed to take part in the event.

"At times like this, I think it's our turn to step forward," said Kimura. "We can give courage and energy to those fans who've always supported us."

The following bank account has been set up to accept donations until April 30.

I wonder what the total amount of money has been received by the various charities in the last 10 years - I bet it'd raise an eyebrow or two.

"yeah don't use a Mizuho account"

Too late, I did that the week before last. A few days ago I asked the nice Mizuho lady if my contribution went through to the proper people, and she assured me it did.
