Yoshino Kimura to appear in last drama before taking maternity leave

Actress Yoshino Kimura, 35, is to appear in a new Fuji TV drama, which will be her last role before she takes maternity leave, she said in a statement released by her agency Top Coat on Wednesday. The series, which was filmed in February and March of this year, is called "Majutsu ha Sasayaku" (Black Magic Whispers) and is based on the work of novelist Miyumi Miyabe, 50.

The story focuses on Kimura's character, Kazuko Takagi, who has used magic to conceal dark deeds in the past. As those around her try to learn more about her, Takagi becomes involved in increasingly mysterious incidents. The drama co-stars Aoi Nakamura, 20, and Eiji Okuda, 61.

Kimura and husband Noriyuki Higashiyama, 44, announced that they were pregnant with their first child in May of this year. Top Coat confirmed that this is the last appearance she will be making in a TV drama before taking maternity leave.

"Black Magic Whispers" will be broadcast on Fuji TV in September.

5 ages in one short article! Doesn't the article's author know anything about these people other than their DOB?

She is pregnant and not him. They are both expecting to have a beautiful and healthy child.

Very pretty woman. Have fun with Aka-chan

on the contrary it seems logical

yes you are right but maybe the author may refer to the couple as one unity

Beautiful lady:)

She looks very respectable and decent in that photograph. I hope that having the child will bring out her maternal instincts and she will stop acting until the child is at least five. I am sure husband can provide financially for the family.

Husband is a singer, actor, and a member of the Japanese pop idol group Shonentai, raking them Yukichis in one after another, so a single income shouldn't be that much of a burden to them and their wise decision for the pregnant mother-to-be to take maternity leave.

I just wish the Jay-Gov't had the brains and balls to pass legislation for all pregnant couples to get paid maternity leave for at least 3 years.

Hippo; Bravo, great post. People liek this who are well known can set an example and show how nature intended child raising to be.

Well known people, actors and actresses and the like, are just as prone to getting divorces as everyone else. nature has nothing to do with child raising, parents do.

I like Yoshino Kimura. When I was high school student, my friends said me "You resemble Yoshino Kimura." I want to look her baby.

'Maternity leave"? Um, no. She won't be paid for the time she is off so she isn't on any leave. PT workers and people like her get shafted when it comes to such things. She'll certainly be able to get work after she takes a BREAK to have a baby.

Can the US do that, too? I be totally up for at-home-motherhood. If that happens for me though, I susupect I'll be at home with kids and working from home-based job to make money. Child care is as expensive as the paycheck you make usually so no point in going to work when you just have to drop the kids and all your money at the door of some stranger while you go perform mindless labor. That's my 2c!

Poster above:

Why on earth would you be working if the maternity leave is paid for???

Heh, good one Maria, 35!

while you go perform mindless labor

Perhaps you could find a job you like? Mine is certainly not "mindless labor".

She looks great in a bikini, and you cannot even tell she is pregnant. Google that.
