Yukina Kinoshita announces end of blog

TV personality Yukina Kinoshita, 23, announced on April 25 that she is to close her popular blog. Kinoshita had been blogging about everyday life since Jan 21 this year on a web page titled "Cinderella Story."

It is believed that Kinoshita plans to continue to update a weblog that is accessible only to paying fan club members. In a blog post titled "To Everyone," Kinoshita announced the end of her public blog and uploaded two pictures of herself alongside her comedian husband Toshifumi Fujimoto, 40, half of comedy duo Fujiwara, to whom she was married in February of this year.

In response to fan comments asking her to continue, she replied, "I always planned to blog for a limited period and I have written with that in mind, so I will be quitting." When another commenter accused her of failing to satisfy her fans, she replied, "I'm sorry and I'm very grateful to my fans."

She left her readers with the message, "Being nice is the most important thing. Take care not to hurt anyone, even if you think you are not doing so."

Headline is a little misleading. She's ending her free blog, but if you want to pay, that's another story.

Either ways she does, that is considered grateful to her fans. They look great now.

I am going to send her my "Samurai Shonan" blog and let her watch it for free for a week and then ask her to join my club. I will tell her she is hot to trot and see if she bites.

Does this mean she was getting e-abuse?

Can't believe anyone would pay to read a blog... what a joke

@ninjastar,

Cast your ninja eyes upon the section of JT this was in. ENTERTAINMENT. It's under Headline News as well because it is the current Entertainment headline.

I "love" how a "commenter accused her of failing to satisfy her fans". As if blogging is a duty included in her talent contract? Hello?!?

She needs to eat a couple of those burgers that Ebi was advertising... borderline anorexic.

Has this broad ever heard of Twitter? This not being 1996, I find it hard to believe anyone would pay for a blog documenting the musings of anyone, particularly when people far more famous and interesting than her are tweeting away for free.

It was one of the best blogs ever!! her insights will be sorely missed.

"urgh... 23? she looks at least 40" probably will continue that annoying childish behaviour popular with some Japanese women when shes 40 though..

If she gets 1000 fans paying 1000 yen per month (not unreasonable, I have no idea how many fans followed her free blog) that's some decent pocket change.

She just needs to interact with her customers a bit to keep them subscribing. Not an uncommon business model.

I for one, am intensely interested in looking at photos of food dishes or cute dogs.

Such blogs by Japanese women are increasingly hard to come by.

And there goes 3 months of hard work writing a blog about "stuff". She has to be exhausted now, hence the end of the blog.

If your thoughts about a subject only amount to 144 characters or less, then Twitter is fine. For those who like to apply more brain power to a subject than 144 characters allows, Twitter is not fine and a blog becomes the medium of choice.

Never read the blog but admire the closing remarks.
