Actually, IMO, there is some truth to what she says. Again, IMO, fights are just wasted energy (except maybe for the make-up sex) and "winning" a fight does not make a mature person any happier. Better to be the bigger person and get on with things, rather than wait for the other person to apologize.

With my close to 20 years of marriage, my advise is "no matter whether I am right or wrong, just apologize." A peaceful household is a much better environment. Besides, I do have a short term memory and will forget the whole thing real fast; however, most women have a hard drive as memory and will spill things back out regardless of how long it has past.

If that's 'advice' it's BAD advice; and if she really does believe that she'll be divorced within two years, I'd say.

If the apology is to admit wrongdoing and attempt to repent, then the 'guilty party' should apologize, bottom line.

If the apology is meant simply to mollify the other part, as in not necessarily admitting guilt (especially when the fight is over nothing in particular), then why should it be limited to the man?

I dont understand how there are so many replies agreeing with this "The man should apologize" BS. If you are wrong, you apologize. If she is wrong, she should. If she doesnt want to, then tend to your hobby, go out with friends, blah blah. My woman apologizes far more than I do, because she is at fault more often. If you seriously cave into her every time there is an issue, then you probably deserve the lifestyle you have.

I apologize more often than not to my wife, regardless of who is to blame. The key is to choose your battles wisely. I never argue over the principal of anything. That is never worth it.
