Yuko Ogura turns her attention to marriage after settling dispute with management

TV personality Yuko Ogura, 27, is finally free of talent management company Avilla after months of legal wrangling. Media reported Thursday that a judge ruled in her favor, ending the contract between herself and the agency on July 4. Ogura said the decision will allow her to concentrate on preparing for her highly publicized marriage to hairdresser Isao Kikuchi, 40.

After the verdict, Ogura sent a message to all major media agencies in which she said: "I am sorry if recent disruptions to my work have inconvenienced you. I just want to assure you that I have turned a corner and I am ready to return to working as hard as I can. I really appreciate your continued support."

steve "please don't return to work if you are planning a family."

What?

You are aware that it is 2011 and not 1811, right? Women can and do return to work and manage to raise families as well. In fact, many do so in a manner that is beneficial to the family, to the children and to society.

Do catch up, 200years gap in thinking on this topic is rather far behind don`t you think?

my work have inconvenience you.

Editors,

You need a 'd' at the end of the longest word, I believe.

She wants to concentrate on marriage...support only until she is single :)

Just like Hiroshima-born TV presenter Mona Yamamoto. This trend is catching on it seems...

Now if all the other talking head talento would follow suit I'd say that they are finally getting somewhere.

Foxie: "If women would all think like her and stay at home to raise healthy families, we wouldn't have unemployment problems. "

huh? How would they raise healthy families with no money? welfare? ridiculous statement. How would we not have unemployment problems if all the women were unemployed? :)

miamum: "don`t even go there. Steve is making it his mission to worm this campaign into every single thread on here. I am waiting to hear that the ongoing dai-ichi nuclear issues are being caused by working Mothers"

Ummm... what's there to debate? If mothers stayed home with their kids there would be no nuclear problem, and there probably would have been no earthquake. There certainly would be no crime in Japan if more mom's stayed home and did nothing while their kids were at school and husbands at work! oh wait... sorry... I'm not Steve. haha. :0

"If women would all think like her and stay at home to raise healthy families, we wouldn't have unemployment problems."

You do know that women have been working since the dawn of time, right? There is this bizarre Donna Reed vision of housewives existing throughout time. But it simply mythology from the 50`s and not a reflection of reality.

Women work, have worked and will go on working. And in a country that has a diminishing resource of labor and bodies to fill jobs, how can you possibly believe that removing women from the work force would result in solving unemployment. On the contrary, it could well damage the economy.

Foxie, check your history and your understanding of modern labor and economics.

I do believe this is a quote. Hence, JT should not correct and/or edit.

More likely a translation of a quote.

Oh my!

You truly believe Yuko said that in English?

You must be a fan...

Yes, hardly likely a news conference with a Japanese airhead would be in English. And if it was it should have "sic" after it.

I bet the contract said "she couldn't get married"... alot of talent agencies actually say in their contracts the girls can not have boyfriends..

Yes, she should fill her shelves with cookbooks. But don't let her stop there...she should prepare an array of fashionable aprons and a blank mind so she won't have any thought of being an evil person by trying to re-enter the workforce or persue her own interests.

TKOIND2 - don`t even go there. Steve is making it his mission to worm this campaign into every single thread on here. I am waiting to hear that the ongoing dai-ichi nuclear issues are being caused by working Mothers!

Noticed that too over the last couple of days, seems he has issues with working moms, maybe his mom worked and he felt neglected or something.

Steve`CPFC: Do you write these things just to try to get me upset? I am sure she will keep her career. She is still dazzling, and not baldo like temei. Be nice to women. She is a nice lady.

Moderator: Could you please post a question in regards to parenting styles in the have your say section? It feels like some members really want to debate about the benifits of single or working mothers even though the news stories don't really bring up the topic.

Thank you :)

Her voice makes me want to stick my finger up my nose far enough to scratch my brain. I cannot imagine being around that for the rest of my life. No way! I pity the fool that wants to marry her... 8 months is what I give 'm.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I'm confused. What does she mean by saying that she quit to concentrate on marriage, but then saying to the networks that she is ready to return to working as hard as she can?

It seems she's saying opposite thing in those two statements. If I'm misunderstanding, can anyone clarify for me? I'd really appreciate it!

Hippo:

LOL, couldn't agree more even though I know it's considered cute (or whatever) in Japan to have a 27 year old woman speaking and acting like she's 13. If I were forced to marry her the first thing I would do is buy a gun and shoot myself.

Yukorin just continues to be a real cutey-pie.

I wonder when her fiance first met her. If he had met her when he was 23, she would have been 10! Of course now that he's 40 and she's 27, no worries!

sorry... I'm not Steve. haha. :0

No, you're not. You're Skeptical Hippo. haha :0

fill her shelves with recipe books to produce fine fare to please her hubby after he returns from work.

the girls can not have boyfriends

They can,

but they shouldn't make it public (which is kinda difficult with the paparazzi following them around all the time)

Good choice. If women would all think like her and stay at home to raise healthy families, we wouldn't have unemployment problems. This would be far more beneficial to society.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

I hope she got a good payoff from the agency so she can fill her shelves with recipe books to produce fine fare to please her hubby after he returns from work. Please don't return to work if you are planning a family.
