herefornow: did you read the news at all? Apparently not.

Interesting how you immediately throw out the Rush and Fox cliches. I watch/listen to neither of them. Oops, there goes your argument... Now what's a Demo to do? :-)

manfromamerica -- quite possibly, but at least my head is trapped in reality, rather than the Fox News/Rush Limbaugh version of it. Because while you may be correct in your statement that "Hollywood erupted in protest" (although you offer no substantiation), Polanski also got support form many other places, including much of Europe, which is why he was not extradicted on the charges. Which were simply PR motivated in the first place. If "thinking" involves simply posting sound bites from Fox and Rush, I'll pass.

Well, I just bought it yesterday. Hardback, last one on the shelf, and advertised as 'Half Price'!? Half of 25 is 12.50 GBP, and the proceeds go to charity, so... why not? Something for an autumn/fall read. :8)

Tony was a good egg till the heat over Iraq got too hot to handle. He then just sat back and let Bush take all the criticism- never once coming to his defense... I guarantee ya Churchill woulda never acted so wimpy- sheesh !

I read excerpts of the book on the web and am continually amazed how well the Brits have impeccable command of the English language. In otherwords, you have to read it word for word to ingest the information. It's like reading Charles Dicken's "Bleak House" but wouldn't go so far as to say that it's equivalent to Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales". In otherwords, you can't skim read it. I also have deep respect for both the British and Japanese for their speaking abilities as well. They know their respective syntaxes well.

Tony Blair was as school with me. This could be a good summer read.

herefornow - nope, it's your head that's trapped. Polansky is a Hollywood darling. Hollywood erupted in protest when he was arrested and almost sent back to US to face trial. You really need to think before you post.

manfromamerica -- maybe its your head that's in the wrong place. The movie was produced by R.P. productions (Polanski's compnay) and shot in Berlin, Germany. How does that make it a Hollywood issue? I am interested in the book, as I understand he has some interesting comments about G.W. Bush.

After I read 'Murder in Samarkand' by Craig Murray, I felt disgusted about the British policies.

He was also the inspiration for the former prime minister dogged by allegations of war crimes in Robert Harris’ thriller “The Ghost,” which was turned into a film by Roman Polanski.

a film by the guy wanted for rape. Hollywood, get your heads out of your butts.

I wouldn't buy it even if all the proceeds went to me.

I would like to read this.
