Chocolate was perfected for the palate by Hershey's.

One taste of Hershey's makes any other chocolate taste wonderful by comparison.

The Swiss and Belgians make the best chocolate, in my opinion. I love a good duty-free shopping spree in Western Europe.

This must be why Hershey's had sales of $1.75 billion just in the past 3 months.

Every second, 95 tons of chocolate are wolfed down around the world, or three million tons a year

Someone didn't "do the math". 95 tons per second is three billion tons a year. Which is unbelievable, as that equates to more than a kilogram per person per day. Maybe true for some people I guess.

Hersheys is not a chocolate, its a cocoa mix... proper chocolate tastes very very differently and soaring sales are only indicator that people like chocolate flavoured sweets

That proves it's excellent. And macdo is also better than any Michelin restaurant, at that scale.

Japanese chocolate is pretty good too for the most part

98 % is not good enough to be labeled as chocolate in European Union (it's a question of ingredient, if it contains only homeopathic amounts of cocoa and cocoa butter, it's not honest to sell it as chocolate). Sure Morozoff's is great, but the bulk of the market is kombini's Morinaga and co.
