A good portion of California renewable energy comes from hydropower with all the snow that accumulates in the Sierra Nevada Mountains pus there's solar installations in the southern deserts.

Nobody talks about how energy it cost to make the wind turbines and recycling is almost not possible due the materials used. Creating solution for one and creating other issues.
