Like it or not, we will be dependent upon fossils to some degree for generations to come. Globalised production minimises the hit on the environment. Take down globalisation and get picky about where your fossil fuel is from, and we will need to considerably overproduce it, to have enough on each side of each geo-political border.

Not a problem for Biden, as the Republicans are making like the Taliban over abortion rights. Either American women lean towards the Democrats in considerable numbers, or they lose control over their bodies. That should be enough to get the Democrats back in, despite their shambolic political skills. Saved by the Repulsives!
