CO2 emissions from road transport could peak worldwide this year thanks to rapid growth in electric vehicles and stricter new regulations, a German think tank says.

Economy-killing regulations perhaps, but EVs? Give us a break. Just because there is no tailpipe that does not mean there is no emission. That is a kindergarten level argument. This "International Council on Clean Transportation" is hardly unbiased.

I have spent a chunk of my life on the freeway depicted. Interstate 405. Why 405? Because it takes 4 or 5 hours to go anyplace on it. Because you are only going 4 or 5 miles per hour much of the time. That stretch is in west Los Angeles near Santa Monica.

If you recharge your EV from solar panels or another non carbon emitting energy source like wind power or hydro power where are the emissions? There are none. In California it is not unusual for a home to have solar panels recharging an electric car. That is where we are going eventually. Plenty of my neighbors are already there.

Unless I was driving a tank truck you would find me on those double yellow lines on my motorcycle splitting lanes. It's a way of life for LA motorcycle riders.
