The goal is ambitious, counter the forces that have destroyed 10% of the forest in less than four decades and create something that can be replicated in other parts of the Amazon.

A huge problem is that conservation systems are not impossible to develop or even mantain, they have failed because they are opposed by economic profit that requires destruction of the forest.

There is huge value in demonstrating projects that can be sustainable and profitable for the locals, but it is also necessary to recognize that as long as governments give priority to companies that share with them the huge profits made from much less sustainable actions the problem will continue.
