Yes, ‘*morally-conscientious’ China*** tries to balance out their consumption & emissions by using ‘good old-fashioned’ **forced-manual-labor to provide 84% of China's and 20% of the world’s cotton:

Hello... Just a year ago, last December, China had a 184 coal plants under construction in China. Now it's whatever makes them look good. There industrial pollution output is second to none just like their rhetoric...

snowy, I threw you thumbs up, to balance out the vote.

A common misconception is that China either lacks climate policies or fails to implement them. The reality is that China has a robust set of climate and energy policies and a strong track record when it comes to fulfilling its pledges to the international community.

I give them some points for trying.

Interesting how someone downvotes ‘contents alone’, directly from the article. Seems to indicate they disagree with the findings/statements of the writer/author/editor. Certainly they would like to know the reason for the dissent and would not censor nor delete it. Give it a shot. It’s supposed to be an ‘open forum’.

On the one hand, more Electric Vehicles are used in China than in the rest of the world combined. On the other hand, those EVs are powered by coal-fired electric plants, which means that the EVs are actually worse than gasoline powered cars.

If they had remained to be Bicycle country, they wouldn't have to struggle like this.

I think it is very naive to do analysis based solely on numbers and statements provided by Chinese government.

In the fight against climate change, China is doing more than you think :

Unfortunately, many people do not use their brain to think, they are only verbose experts who are good at making endless slanted verbal attacks against China for the wrong thing..

Xi must have had a talk with the media about all the bad press China has been getting.
