This is one of those articles that, for me, reinforces the fact that 8 billion humans are too many.

The US methane emissions are higher than India so the US can not lecture India on this issue (like it's fond of doing on anything else in general) without sounding like a complete hypocrite.

This article only talks about methane emissions from coal mining, not methane emissions from oil and gas operations where US is the worst culprit by far.

In 2024, when solar and wind are cheaper than new coal burning power plants, this sort of thing demonstrates ignorance at the highest levels of government.

According to the IEA, the International Energy Association, the leading emitters of methane, in order, are China, then India, followed by the USA and then Russia.

A simple search proves you wrong.

US emissions are still higher than India inspite of the huge difference in population.

Solar is cheaper than oil too so maybe you can explain why US is still the top oil producer.

Nobody should be investing in coal, particularly countries that already buying oil from some of the worst regimes in the world with no plans to stop.
