1.1 to 1.2 degrees in about 170 years is not a big amount. Historically temperatures have been way hotter, CO2 levels have been way higher, oceans have been way higher, and natural disasters have been occurring much worse. Natural disasters will continue and CO2 levels/temperatures/oceans will continue to fluctuate greatly for billions more years, and it is extremely unlikely humans can control that by any active measures. Humans are more of existential threat to humans that a tiny uptick in temperature. Political unrest and political wars have killed hundreds of millions. WWII killed 70-85 million, Rome falling 60-80 million died, etc, etc.
