Children have been missing school since the inception of school, because of weather.

The point being that this problem is specially important now thanks to the widely reported disasters that continue to grow thanks to climate change.

At least 242 million children in 85 countries had their schooling interrupted last year because of heatwaves, cyclones, flooding and other extreme weather, the United Nations Children's Fund said in a new report.

Is that more or less than the year before? How does that amount who were affected by weather compare to those affected by wars during WWI, or WWII?

The article makes no point about climate change, a term that appears nowhere.

Is that more or less than the year before?

More by 6 million from 2021

How does that amount who were affected by weather compare to those affected by wars during WWI, or WWII?

Why? do you think it would be important that war ALSO make children miss school? do you believe that disasters can't happen on top of wars.

The article makes no point about climate change, a term that appears nowhere.

Not being included in the article in no way make this claim less true, anybody even remotely informed knows this thanks to many different sources where scientists have proved it.

By now it is beyond believable than anybody could ignore this well reported fact, is would be like pretending not to know that viruses produce infections even if an article about it does not mention this fact.

The year before means 2024.

Regardless, only 6 million? Such a small number since the world population increased by over 200 Million since 2021. Looks like we are heading in the right direction, despite normal weather patterns.

Why? do you think it would be important that war ALSO make children miss school? do you believe that disasters can't happen on top of wars.

Why discount the children missing school because of wars? That is a human-caused tragedy, one that can be controlled, unlike those missing school because of naturally occurring weather.

Regardless, only 6 million?

This comment betrays a problem of lack of empathy, how many more millions would it take to make you care for the problem? Obviously the experts and people in charge of supporting the children education care about it, just pretending this is acceptable is not really putting yourself in the best light.

Why discount the children missing school because of wars?

Nobody is doing it, this is about a different problem that in no way prevents others from happening. Both problems are human caused one directly by wars and another indirectly by climate change. It is not "naturally" occurring weather anymore, and it is causing a problem that requires attention as well, only because you would like to ignore it that does not mean you can mislead others into doing the same.

It's a good thing proportionally fewer children are being affected by weather. Would you prefer more to be affected? Why? That shows a lack of understanding of the situation improving.

do you believe that disasters can't happen on top of wars.

This shows a total lack of compassion and humanity for the children who are affected by wars.

Incredible that you try and turn this into a soapbox to spout off wild conspiracies while ignoring the suffering of millions of children who everyday are affected globally by wars.

It's a good thing proportionally fewer children are being affected by weather.

The problem is growing and the experts in children support say this is something that needs to be urgently addressed, you personally thinking this is "good" is again because of complete lack of empathy and trying to be in denial of the situation, you are free to do it but not to mislead others into making the same mistake.

If the UNICEF says something is bad and you say is good, it is safe to say the UNICEF is the one to listen to.

This shows a total lack of compassion and humanity for the children who are affected by wars.

No it does not, on the contrary, to say these are two different problems and that both require attention in no way is denying either as you are trying to do.

Climate change is no conspiracy, pretending the disasters are just "natural" is what can be considered a conspiracy theory since the scientific consensus is treated as such by the antiscientific propaganda groups that insist on ignoring it and pretend this is natural or not a problem as you tried to do here.

because of extreme weather, UNICEF says

The lockstep legacy media drumbeat to promote more UN regulations to combat "climate change" is amazing. Not a day without another article trying to spread this narrative.
