Nitrous oxide heats the Earth's atmosphere 300 times more effectively than carbon dioxide

How is this calculation result obtained?

How is this calculation result obtained?

Here is a much more complete explanation

https://chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/72942/why-does-nitrous-oxide-have-300-times-the-global-warming-potential-of-co2

But in general the global warming potential is much higher for Nitrous oxide because it has a vey high potential for absorption of infrared light at wavelengths where no other compounds do the same, while CO2 has a lower potential at wavelenghts that are shared with other substances (so some of the absorption of heath would still happen even without CO2), since Nitrous oxide is also a very stable substance that means it will keep trapping heat for many years.

There is nothing new about this study. The NOx studies are an excuse by globalist politicians to go after agriculture now, which has already lead the massive farmer protests we are seeing in France, Germany, Holland, and Poland. They they really want to tamper with the worlds food supply?

But where is the quantity component of the calculation?

There is nothing new about this study.

Present a reference that describe the phenomenon addressed in the report and reaches the same conclusions.

You can't? that is because this is precisely the new part about the study, arguing from ignorance is a fallacy, just because you don't know something that does not mean other people ignore it as well.

The NOx studies are an excuse by globalist politicians

Since you make exactly zero scientific arguments about the studies that means you have not refuted them, so your criticism runs empty, to validly claim the studies are just an excuse you must first demonstrate their lack of intrinsic value. Are the reports correct? then they are not an excuse, they are simply describing what is happening and what will be the consequences.

But where is the quantity component of the calculation?

Stability and efficiency of infrared absorption at different wavelengths, there is endless amount of sources to get each parameter easily for example https://www.coresta.org/sites/default/files/abstracts/Tobacco_Science_1959_3-33_p._139-143_ISSN.0082-4623.pdf

N2O is truly a global warming disaster in the making.

there is endless amount of sources

But where is the data about the quantity of this gas in the atmosphere, compared to CO2?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Well we better stop urinating because the same can be said about human waste treatment plants where 90% of the gases released into the atmosphere is N2O or Nitrous oxide.

Speaking about the nitrogen gases that emanate from fertilizers is a mere distraction. It is a trick to evade from the necessity to stop burning carbon fuels.

But where is the data about the quantity of this gas in the atmosphere, compared to CO2?

Making up new questions as if that was what you asked before is deeply irrational, you original question was answered without problems. Being unable to accept that your only exit is to pretend you asked something completely different.

Speaking about the nitrogen gases that emanate from fertilizers is a mere distraction. It is a trick to evade from the necessity to stop burning carbon fuels.

What distraction? for that you still need to demonstrate the conclusions of the scientific report are wrong, as long as you can't that means they remain valid and the warnings justified. There is nothing about acting about the problems of nitrous oxide that requires stopping the production of other contaminants, in fact it can help justify changes with more strength since many of the human activities can affect both, meaning that modifying them have a double benefit.

Well we better stop urinating because the same can be said about human waste treatment plants where 90% of the gases released into the atmosphere is N2O or Nitrous oxide.

And you have a reference that says this is in any way a source that is comparable with agriculture? Not to mention that is well describe that treatment plants can function without producing any significant amount.

many of the human activities can affect both

The deepest and most difficult issue is the problem of energy and fossil fuels, not the nitrogen issue. The enemies of the planet use every trick and every distraction to advocate the stupid and redundant burning of crazy amounts of carbon fuels.

The deepest and most difficult issue is the problem of energy and fossil fuels, not the nitrogen issue.

What part of the article is saying that nitrous oxide is the most difficult issue? none? then what is the point in criticizing something that nobody said?

The enemies of the planet use every trick and every distraction to advocate the stupid and redundant burning of crazy amounts of carbon fuels.

More like they use any kind of trick to oversimplify the problem and advocate for people to ignore other important causes of the problem, making them more likely to ignore them all. In this case you are acting much more against actions against climate change than in support. Because you are fomenting antiscientific ways of thinking by telling people to ignore the science and focus on what you personally think they should care about, even when there is zero requirement to forget one problem to recognize other problems are important as well.

It is like a doctor calling into attention a patient has a serious problem with bleeding on top of a disseminated cancer, someone saying "just focus on the cancer, the hemorrhage is just and excuse to not treat it" is not helping the patient but instead being in the way of what is best for him.
