Plastic garbage covers Central American rivers, lakes and beaches

Most of the plastic in the ocean comes from Asia, not Central America.

Mainland Asia, actually.

Well, let’s see, is that because the PEOPLE there are throwing TRASH in the river?

Maybe THAT’s why it’s there. Good possibility.

Disgusting abuse of Mother Earth. She is hurting.

I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you’re not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we are the cure.

Central American countries are relatively poor.

Either they have downgraded the negative impacts of plastic waste on environment or are short of extra cash to clear the massive waste, they just pretend not to know..

There is the shockingly sad picture of a beautiful horse drinking water among a pool of garbage in this article. Not only are countries in Central America filling up with plastic filth. Even in 'clean' Canada, I have seen plastic waste in the world's most beautiful lakes in the north of Quebec. Not a lot. But enough to be worrying. And, not enough people know about it. As 'Little drops of water make a mighty oean' the day will come when not only every country in the world will have waters filling up with plastic and other garbage but, our great oceans will be increasingly contaminated. There is already an 'island' of plastic garbage the size of France in the Pacific Ocean.

I'd like to go back to primarily glass, paper and wood containers.

For the environment's well-being, it is important for people to separate their garbage: plastics, glass, metals, paper for recycling . . . biodegradable (food waste, etc.) for non-recycling . . ..
