Pollution of potent warming gas methane soars and people are mostly to blame

Humans cause methane emissions by burning fossil fuels, engaging in large-scale agriculture and filling up landfills.

Yeah, looks like that ship has sailed. Temperatures have warmed, sea levels have risen, seawater is more acidic - the warning signs are on red, but still we can't get our stupid act together. Are we the most stupid species ever to have existed? Do we prove that "civilised" life is unsustainable once again and that life always devolves back to unicellular creatures to restore equilibrium (The Medea Hypothesis)?
