Does our civilization wants to survive, and escape the fate suffered by the civilization of our sister planet Venus? If the answer is positive, our civilization must move from extraction of energy from carbon compounds to the extraction of energy directly from the sun and from heavy nuclei. And the move must be swift.

I read a scientific analysis of how long it took for the runaway green house effect to completely destroy Venus's oceans, and it was surprisingly short.

On the subject of methane escaping into the atmosphere due to the works of mankind, fixing this problem should be the low hanging fruit of fixing global warming, considering how destructive methane is.
