"Prove their conclusions"? You must have missed that the article talks about massively complicated computer models with hundreds of thousands of unknown factors.

So what? that is still part of the conclusions, a simple medical diagnosis is also a conclusion that is taken even when uncountable variables that can't be measures can influence it, that does not make a scientific conclusion less valid. If you think the assumptions are invalid then you need to make an argument to prove it, not just say that they may be wrong because of not knowing everything in the universe.

The problem with these climate alarmists is that they base their 'trust the science' conclusions on a mixture of facts, assumptions and guesswork

That has been systematically examined to validate it, which makes them a huge lot more valuable than just saying "they must be wrong because I believe the opposite".

You think the predictions are wrong? then you must have scientific arguments open for examination that are at least of the same quality as the arguments included in the discussion of the report. Without them you are just complaining about not agreeing with something you don't understand but that scientists do and accept as valid.

The problem with these climate alarmists is that they base their 'trust the science' conclusions on a mixture of facts, assumptions and guesswork. How can they prove thier assumptions re temperatures, conditions and events of the distant past? They can't. It's all guesswork.

Unfortunately we and our children will have to bear the financial and social fall out of their foolishness....if we allow it. Ignore them.

Since they have the data to prove their conclusions and no problems

"Prove their conclusions"? You must have missed that the article talks about massively complicated computer models with hundreds of thousands of unknown factors. I.e. depending on what assumptions you put in, you can get any desired result. The article itself is sensibly full of "could" and "if". Nothing about proving anything.

This may be true, but unfortunately there is little or nothing humankind can do to reduce the current global temperatures or even reduce the rate at which they are changing.

Cannot believe a word these people say.

Since they have the data to prove their conclusions and no problems have been identified with their methods that only leaves a personal irrational choice as the reason why you are unable to accept them.

The rate of change is amazing.

"Even as recently as 400,000 years ago -- not that long ago on geological timescales -- there is evidence that a part of the EAIS retreated 700 km inland in response to only 1-2°C of global warming,"

And CO2 concentrations then were MUCH less than they are now (416ppm and rising).

Because warming follows CO2 concentrations we are already locked in for the consequences of current (and rising) green house gas concentrations.

On the bright side, my mother's house would become beach-front property!
