Whistlebump Halloween 2015

This year, people, Halloween is on Saturday night. If the festivities that played out across Tokyo last year are any indication of the holiday’s continued popularity here—then be prepared for chaotic scenes in the city's popular areas and a massive parade of people heading out into the night and filling the clubs of the metropolis. The Whistlebump Halloween 2015 event, which has been setting the trend for five years running, will once again be leading the way with a night of amazing entertainment from main artist Funk D'Void (Lars Sandberg) — a DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of the global electronic music scene since the mid-90s. He's remixed the likes of Underworld, New Order and Kevin Saunderson, though he's probably best known for the end-of-nighter "Diabla," which bridged house and techno (and was flogged by everyone from Danny Howells to Sven Vath). A packed crowd decked out in sexy costumes will party all through the witching hour at Xex Nihonbashi with pole dancers and divas as well champagne, party favors and one of Tokyo's best nighttime city views. Tickets start at ¥3,500 and are available at: http://iflyer.tv/en/halloween2015/ As last year, advance tickets are expected to sell out, so to avoid waiting in line on the day of the event, you can buy fast pass tickets guaranteed to get you past the throng by sending an email to: info@eggworm.jp. I gotta say, this kind of stuff makes me bittersweet about leaving Japan early next year. I've been here for three years, living in a not-huge city, and never got to go to many events like this. The party scene in Nagasaki is a bit more sedate. Anyway. looks fun!
