Here in the States, after the 1918 - 1920 pandemic, we went through a period often called The Roaring Twenties. I wonder how much the desire to party hearty was a reaction to the end of the war, and the end of the plague.

Yes, that was a splendid time and many things from that period still impress today , also very well remembered by grand grandparents when they still lived and told about....But sorry, that’s only the small and funny part of the story. When that bubble ended, there was a worldwide hyperinflation, unemployment, hunger, rise of dictatorships , a big world war, then iron curtain, cold war and so on. In fact, all the consequences of that little party in the twenties of last century you can even feel still today if you look around, I mean, all former conflicts , real or ideological, are by far not over or forgotten, but again very acutely reviving, triggered by corona.

leave home by 6:45 come back at 6 so pretty much same him pre pandemic- unfortunately, living in Japan, WFH is not so much implemented here. I personally think it was a HUGE wasted opportunity as it would have given people and society as a whole a chance to fix the whole work culture. Not implementing gov regulation that would have facilitated more WFH was a huge mistake.
